Received a call today that our Troop had a visitor to their campsite. It appears that a black bear made a visit to their campsite. I'm sure that this will be one of many stories that will be brought back from the Trek.

Philmont Update from the Road - 6/27/2007 by host

A quick update on the Philmont Trek. The Scouts (Troop 785 and 193) made it to Amarillo in good shape and had fun at the Scout Hut with Troop 80. We went to dinner at the Pizza Hut and they gave us nine pizzas for $8 each – the best deal in town. The boys played foosball and pool until about 11:00 then we all crashed for the night.

Up at 5:00 am and on the road at 6:00 for an early arrival at Philmont. Stopped in Dalhart for gas and McDonald’s. Everyone is doing well and spirits are high despite heavy rains green skies and marble sized hail.

We're glad you stopped by! This is the "official" site for Unit 193 sponsored by the Duncanville Church of Christ. Unit 193 consists of Venture Crew 193, Boy Scout Troop 193, and Cub Scout Pack 193. Members typically live in southern Dallas County and Northern Ellis and Johnson Counties in Texas. We have members that reside in Duncanville, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Lancaster, Midlothian, Red Oak, Grand Prairie, Dallas, and more.....
