All Great Achievements Begin with a Vision...
As Mahatma Ghandi said, " We must all be the change we want to see in the world". The Visions of a Better World Foundation is serving by visioning, creating, and connecting to make the world a better place. The greater good of the world is conspiring in a serendipitous and synchronous way to help individuals build a better world.
You are graciously invited to join this conspiracy.
It is the mind-shattering revelation that all is One and One is all, that everything is ultimately none other than that mystical and mysterious ground of Beingthe Nothingness that is Everything. The direct experience of this ultimate of mysteries liberates the mind from time and frees the soul from fear. It sets the stage for human life to manifest its incredible creative potential in a way that is authentic and free. But what is the moral, philosophical, and ethical context in which that creative potential and authentic freedom will arise? Because we live in a time when so many of us have left the past and all its traditions behind, where are we to look for answers to lifes most basic and important questions? The revelation of nondualitythat all is One and One is allin and of itself does not answer the question of how to live, how to make sense out of the human experience in the midst of a rapidly changing worlda world in which so many of us have left all guidelines behind.
May all sentient beings have happiness and its causes,
May all sentient beings be free of suffering and its causes,
May all sentient beings never be separated from bliss without suffering,
May all sentient beings be in equanimity, free of bias, attachment and anger.
Something obvious keeps eluding our civilization, something that involves a reciprocal relationship between nature and psyche, and that we are going to have to grasp if we are to survive as a species. But it hasn't come together yet, and as a result, to use the traditional labels, it is still unclear whether we are entering a new
Dark Age
or a new Renaissance
.
This movement exists; it just hasn't been recognized by the mainstream yet. There are so many of us who want a better world and so many throughout history who have spent their lives working towards that goal. We are part of a community that stretches back throughout humanity's history, and is alive today in every corner of the world. Individually our efforts might seem insignificant, but when viewed from this historical perspective, they are monumental. These efforts have created a strong foundation, and by joining together now, we can create a better world. Alone our individual resources are limited, but together we have all we need to change the system. We can use our talents and our spending dollars in ways that will transform the world, rather than perpetuate the system that is destroying it.
The Better World Campaign (BWC) works to strengthen the relationship between the United States and the United Nations through outreach, communications, and advocacy. We encourage U.S. leadership to enhance the UNs ability to carry out its invaluable international work on behalf of peace, progress, freedom, and justice. In these efforts, we engage policy makers, the media, and the American public to increase awareness of and support for the United Nations.
The Peace Alliance is a nonpartisan citizen action organization representing a growing constituency for peace. A 501(c)4 organization established in May 2004, our mission is to empower civic activism for a culture of peace. Our vision is a future in which the practical programs and principles of peacebuilding are the bedrock of our personal, national and global interest and investment. Our goal is to take the field of peacebuilding from the margins of the political and societal dialogue and bring it to its rightful place: Central to our policymaking, investment and understanding. We achieve this primarily through a massive public education, outreach and citizen lobbying effort. Our current focus is the campaign for a cabinet-level U.S. Department of Peace.
Again I say: go to the Internet. Though its worthwhile to read the print publications that pursue quality reporting-and some of the smaller ones really need our support-subscribing is not essential: nearly all of the important articles from these publications may be found on the web, and bloggers often link to them. And besides, there is also some fine web-based reporting, such as (to pick an example that is apropos to this discussion) the Salon piece that dissected and disposed of the myth, perpetuated by the MSM in tandem with then press secretary Ari Fleischer, that the exiting Clinton staff had removed the Ws from their keyboards, and in other ways vandalized government property.
Through our relentless pursuit of the American Dream and our blind adherence to our American way of life, we have become overextended -- we have exceeded Americas capacity to sustainably support our existing population at our current standard of living. That is, the natural resources and economic resources required to support our ever-increasing consumption levels by our ever-expanding population are simply not available; nor is the capacity of our habitat sufficient to assimilate the ever-increasing amounts of waste disgorged by our ever-expanding population.
"When you look at the world we humans have created you may conclude that it was created by sleeping people, because awake, aware, conscious people would manifest a very different world.
We must commit ourselves absolutely and unequivocally to shaking ourselves and everyone around us awake. We must hear the wisdom of the prophecies, open our hearts and minds to the possibilities, become conscious, and then take action." ~ Dream Change (DC) founder and NY Times best selling author,
JOHN PERKINS
The emerging paradigm that we see, based on the dispersed insurgencies bursting out, is the renaissance of the commons. The commons is a social regime for managing shared resources and forging a community of shared values and purposes. Unlike markets, which rely upon price as the sole dimension of value, a common is organized around a richer blend of human needs -- for identity, community, fame and honor -- which are indivisible and inalienable, as well as more "tangible" rewards.
ART IDEAS, Premier Issue, Summer 1994: Today, as we approach the end of this century, we who would set our feet upon a path to a renaissance of high culture face strong opposing forces already well entrenched and hard at work to further debase our culture.
Spiritual We believe that Humanity has reached a point in its development at which it is consciously reaching toward its higher potential. This is evidenced in the collective activity of many and varied humanitarian efforts, both spiritual and secular, to improve the human and planetary condition. We believe that the urge toward improvement is spiritual in nature and comes from that within us which contains what is highest and most divinely beautiful.
This book is a collection of groundbreaking essays in the area of metaphysics and Esoteric subjects. The book covers several contemporary topics of extreme interest. Some of the titles are: The Paradox of Life, Fallacies and Deceptions in Occultism, The Fallacy of Predictions, Psychological Resistance to Wholeness, The Original Sin, The Adversary and the Redeemer, From Fear to Faith, The Dialectic and the Qabalah, among other influential topics. Furthermore, the essays attempt to demystify and dispel basic misconceptions accepted as true by common opinion. They examine and question several fundamental erroneous concepts traditionally believed and accepted as conventional wisdom. In addition to informing and educating the reader about some very innovative issues, they will also help to separate the grain from the chaff, so to speak, regarding preconceived misconceptions on metaphysical and other related areas of thought. In that sense, this book is definitely thought provoking, as it challenges many customary beliefs...
