Come holidays and weekends, you'll find them flaunting their skills at skate parks set up specially for the purpose. Go Sports, a company selling skateboarding gear and stuff even used to talent scout for youths to represent Singapore in the Asian X Games.
A master at skateboarding is seen as being a cool guy and "respected" among his peers.
However, many may stereotype a skateboarder as a rowdy, thrill-seeking individual. There is no doubt that skateboarders may sometimes be scoffed at for being a nuisance at public places, disturbing the peace and more importantly, posing a danger not only to themselves and those who cross their path.
