Rajasthani art and craft

Rajasthan Hasta Kala Samiti an NGO is organising an exhibition titled Rajasthan Craft Fair at Premachandra Kalyan Mantap, 2nd Block, Jayanagar up to September 23. The exhibition is intended to promote crafts from Rajasthan and other parts of India.

Wooden panels depicting dancing figures, huge elephant dolls stuffed with hay and stitched with cotton, white metal decoration pieces from Jaipur, idols made of bell metal and white metal, centre tables and walnut wood furniture, dry fruit boxes from Gujarat, radium and marble stone statues, rosewood carvings, Kondpalli and Ettikoppa toys, Jaipur paintings, bronze icons, terrcotta, meenakari gift articles, Orissa aplique work wall hanging, palm leaf painting, black metal statue from Jaipur,  Kashmir wooden crafts, gem stone painting, Sahanapur wood carving, Navadania god figure,  jute products, leather articles, semi-precious stones carvings: jade Ganesh, coral Ganesh, lapis Ganesh, tiger eye Ganesh, rainbow, moonstone Ganesh, brass and metal bells, fruit bowls, corner stand, bangle box, terracotta and ceramic vases, Banjara bags, Chettinad old and antique items are some of the major attractions in the exhibition.

The textile section includes churidars from Rajasthan and Gujarat, cotton saree, Pattola, Chanderi, Kota sarees, Urganja tissue silk, Doria cotton saree, chanyacholi, Gujarat ghagra cholis, mirror work tops, skirts, readymade churidars, chicken work churidars, vegetable block print kurta’s in all sizes, gents kurta sets, Rajasthan bed spreads, cushion covers and pillow covers.

Precious and semiprecious stone jewellery, stone mallas, silver pendant’s, silver with stone bracelet and earrings, pearl mallas, gold jewellary mangal sutra, payal, necklace set, bangles, chains, lac bangles, gold plated earrings, Hyderabad pearls are also included in the exhibition.

Krishna Surana of Sri Krishna Diamonds and Jewellery, Bangalore has received the award for “The Best Shopping Experience” from Prasad Kapre, Business Director, Diamond Trading Corporation, part of the famour De Beers Group at a function held at ITC Maratha Sheraton in Mumbai on September 2.
