Definitions of AT&T affiliates contained in these listings are as follows:
- AT&T Long Distance East (AT&T LD East) (formerly SBC Long Distance East): The long-distance affiliate created by the former Southern New England Telecommunications Corp. (SNET), primarily serving Connecticut customers of The Southern New England Telephone Company.
- AT&T Long Distance (formerly SBC Long Distance (SBCLD)): The long-distance affiliate created by the former SBC Communications Inc. (SBC).
- Pacific Bell Communications (PBComm): The long-distance affiliate created by Pacific Telesis Group (PTG) prior to the merger of SBC and PTG. The assets and operations of PBComm were transferred to SBCS and PBComm was dissolved on December 30, 1998.
- Southwestern Bell Telephone, L.P. (SWBT), This is the AT&T (formerly SBC) telephone company that serves Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas.
- Pacific Bell Telephone Company (PB), DBA AT&T California (formerly SBC California): This is the AT&T telephone company that serves California.
- Nevada Bell Telephone Company (NB), DBA AT&T Nevada (formerly SBC Nevada): This is the AT&T telephone company that serves Nevada.
- The Southern New England Telephone Company (SNET), DBA AT&T Connecticut (formerly SBC Connecticut) : This is the AT&T telephone company that serves Connecticut.
- Illinois Bell Telephone Company (SBC IL), DBA AT&T Illinois (formerly SBC Illinois): This is the AT&T telephone company that serves Illinois.
- Indiana Bell Telephone Company, Inc. (SBC IN), DBA AT&T Indiana (formerly SBC Indiana): This is the AT&T telephone company that serves Indiana.
- Michigan Bell Telephone Company (SBC MI), DBA AT&T Michigan (formerly SBC Michigan): This is the AT&T telephone company that serves Michigan.
- The Ohio Bell Telephone Company (SBC OH), DBA AT&T Ohio (formerly SBC Ohio): This is the AT&T telephone company that serves Ohio.
- Wisconsin Bell, Inc. (SBC WI), DBA AT&T Wisconsin (formerly SBC Wisconsin): This is the AT&T telephone company that serves Wisconsin.
- BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. (BST): This is the AT&T ILEC that serves Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Any future changes to the names of these AT&T affiliates will be reflected in the above definitions.
