President Bush Discusses Free Trade Agreements

On Friday, President Bush said, "We meet at an historic time for this country's economy. Last week, we learned that September was America's 49th consecutive month of job creation -- that's the longest uninterrupted period of job growth on record. And just yesterday, we learned that the American economy set new records for exports in a single month. More exports support better and higher-paying jobs -- and that's important for our citizens to understand. People who work for companies which export have a higher-paying job than someone who doesn't. And so I believe strongly, to make sure that the historic records we set in the last couple of days continue that we've got to expand trade."
