Wake Forest K Sam Swank kicked a 48-yard field goal with 1:40 left to give the Demon Deacons a 24-14 lead.Josh Adams. The freshman RB for Wake Forest ran for 136 yards (1 TD) and caught six passes for 29 yards (1 TD).7. Between the two teams there were seven turnovers -- with FSU giving it away four times to Wake's three.

After beating its first ranked team of the season in Purdue, Ohio State must avoid a letdown when it hosts Kent State. The Buckeyes have been winning their games by an average of 26.5 points, while the Golden Flashes are 0-8 all-time against the Big Ten.

Illinois has ripped off five straight wins including the last two over ranked opponents to rise to its first ranking in six years. Iowa is struggling in conference play, losing eight in a row in the Big Ten.

Off to its worst start in conference play in 50 years, Texas looks to grab its first Big 12 win on the road at Iowa State. But the Longhorns will have to beat a familiar face in Cyclones coach Gene Chizik, who was the Horns defensive coordinator the previous two seasons. And Texas will have to do it without WR Limas Sweed, who is out for the season with a wrist injury.

Kansas plays its first game as a ranked team in 11 years at home against Baylor. The Jayhawks beat rival Kansas State last Saturday for its first road win over a ranked team since 1995. The Bears have dropped two in a row -- both in conference play.

Tennessee made its way back to the Top 25 this week but faces an upstart Mississippi State team. Tennessee leads the series with Mississippi State 26-15-1 and has won four straight and seven of the last eight meetings.

USC looks to get back on the horse after suffering its first loss of the season, hosting Arizona. The Trojans, who are at their lowest ranking in four years, had their 35-game home win streak snapped with the loss to Stanford. Wildcats QB Willie Tuitama will look to rebound after a rough outing against Oregon State last week.

After a two-year hiatus, Notre Dame and Boston College renew a storied rivalry in South Bend. The Irish are coming off their best game of the year, beating UCLA for their first win of the season. But it's the Eagles who are flying highest, coming into the game 6-0 behind Heisman hopeful QB Matt Ryan.

LSU will hope to avoid the recent upset bug that gone around college football when it visits Kentucky. The Tigers are coming off a hard-fought win over Florida, while the Wildcats are looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season last week.

It's a battle of the Carolinas when the Gamecocks and Tar Heels meet for the first time since 1991. After beating Miami last week, North Carolina is thinking upset again. Steve Spurrier is 3-0 against the Heels, with all three wins coming while the Ol' Ball Coach was at Duke.

Wisconsin looks to rebound after its first loss of the season when it makes the trip to Happy Valley. The Badgers will be without leading receiver Luke Swan, who suffered a season-ending injury, while Penn State won't have running back Austin Scott, who was suspended by coach Joe Paterno.

Oregon gets back on the field for the first time since its loss to Cal on Sept. 29. The Ducks will have revenge on their mind after Washington State upended them last season. The Cougars are facing their third Top 10 foe, falling to Wisconsin and USC earlier.

Georgia eyes revenge against Vanderbilt after the Commodores sent the Bulldogs into a tailspin last season. Vandy receiver Earl Bennett is seven receptions shy of breaking the SEC record for career catches.

Missouri faces its stiffest test of the season when it heads to Norman to take on Oklahoma. Under coach Gary Pinkel the Tigers have had their troubles against ranked teams, going 2-15 in his seven years at the school. The Sooners have 16 of the last 17 games against Missouri.

After a bye week, Cal comes into this week's game against Oregon State with its highest ranking in over 50 years. The Bears will have to keep their guard up as the Beavers have had success at Cal, winning their last three games in Berkeley.

If you looked at this game before the season started, you likely would guessed Louisville as the undefeated team. But the roles have been reversed and Cincinnati will be aiming for 7-0, while the struggling Cardinals hope to climb above .500.

If Darren McFadden is going to take home a Heisman Trophy, Arkansas is going to have to start notching some wins, starting with visiting Auburn. The Tigers got a boost last week when suspended running back Brad Lester returned to the lineup.
