Ricky Nolasco gave up two runs in two innings and struck out four Tuesday for the Peoria Saguaros of the AFL.

Nolasco needed special permission to play in Arizona because of his veteran status. The Marlins wanted him there after he missed so much of the season with elbow woes.

Marlins' RHP Ricky Nolasco has received special permission from Major League Baseball to pitch in the Arizona Fall League.

Nolasco, who threw just 55 innings (including the minors) this season due to elbow problems, will be one of the most experienced players in AFL history. He won 11 games in the majors in 2006.

Marlins activated RHP Ricky Nolasco from the 15-day disabled list and optioned him to Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Marlins still don't think Nolasco is ready to take a spot in the rotation. He might not be called up until the minor league season ends.

Ricky Nolasco (elbow) allowed two earned runs over three innings during a rehab start with Double-A Carolina on Wednesday.

This was the eighth outing and sixth start for Nolasco during his rehab. He should be activated from the disabled list and used out of the bullpen within the next week.

Ricky Nolasco (elbow) pitched two innings for the Rookie GCL Marlins on Tuesday.

Nolasco threw 24 pitches in the outing. The Marlins are expected to activate Nolasco from the disabled list next week and use him out of the bullpen while he regains arm strength.
