Tony Wright is the founder (and most prolific writer) of CraftyTraveler.com.
Tony was born in Des Moines, Iowa, but spent most of his youth near Washington, D.C. He went to St. Andrews Episcopal School (in Bethesda, Md at the time-- it has since moved to Potomac, Md), and graduated with a Psychology degree from Washington College in Chestertown, Md.
After graduating college, Tony drove west with his brother Geoff, exploring the northern United States. Given how painfully hot the trip was, the two decided to turn north upon hitting the Pacific Ocean, and extended their trip through Canada and (finally) Alaska. After a month in Alaska, Tony decided he was going to stay.
Professionally, Tony has largely spent most of his career in the IT industry. After a short stint as a consultant down in Chicago (during the dotcom boom) Tony returned to Alaska to found PangoMedia, Inc, an Web Development and Consulting Firm, which has grown about 600% in the last 6 years (right through the dotcom bust, thank you very much!). Tony has been a public speaker on all sorts of web-related topics, including one of his favorites, "How to Write for the World Wide Web".
Tony is no longer active in the management of PangoMedia, though he continues to consult with the company and and provide as much unsolicited advice as the current managers can stand.
