Fall Network TV Preview: ABC, CBS, FOX

ABC, which will debut nine new series this fall, more than its broadcast-network competitors, is adding a new generation of broad-appealing, young, accessible programming to its schedule. Premiering in the coming weeks are four new comedies: Carpoolers, Cavemen, Miss/Guided and Sam I Am; along with seven new dramas: Big Shots, Cashmere Mafia, Dirty Sexy Money, Eli Stone, Private Practice, Pushing Daisies and Women's Murder Club. Alternative series Oprah's Big Give is also joining the lineup. October Road and Notes from the Underbelly are returning for second seasons as well. Two ABC pilots, Life on Mars and Football Wives, are both under consideration for future series orders.

CBS has adjusted its schedule only slightly by adding five new series - one comedy, three dramas and one reality series. New shows include Viva Laughlin, Cane, Moonlight, The Big Bang Theory and Kid Nation. The New Adventures of Old Christine has been picked up for mid-season along with new drama Swingtown.
