Welcome

If you'd like to know more about us, what good people we are and the exciting things that we do, click to download our 2006 PIREP (PIlot REPort, in aviation-ese.)

The WBAC has forged a thrilling museum exhibit that allows visitors to see all the Wright gliders and Flyers  and actually fly them. The Birth of Aviation Exhibit is amazingly flexible; we can custom-design a display to fit any space large enough to hold an airplane and a flight simulator. If you'd like to bring this adventure to a museum or special event near you, click to download the WRIGHT STUFFER, a pictorial catalog of our airplanes and artifacts. Want to see a preview? Click:

Our "Secret of Flight" program tours schools across America. And we've just reworked it to reflect the newest national scholastic benchmarks in science, technology, math, and social studies. If you'd like us to conduct presentations or workshops at your school, click to download our 2006 School Tour Packet. If you need an outline of or presentations or want to know what topics we cover, click for a map of the Scholastic Benchmarks. Want to schedule a visit? Email wilbur@wright-brothers.org.

We're just winding up an exciting adventure in aviation archaeology. In the process, we've created perhaps the most unique collection of pioneer airplanes and artifacts in the world. Now we have to find them a home. Interested in acquiring them for your museum or institution? Want something cool to stick in your hangar?  Click HERE.

The young folks at Russia (pronounced "Rooshee") Local School in Russia, Ohio have done it again. This May they unveiled their second Wright aircraft, a replica of the 1900 Wright Glider. Meanwhile, the State of Ohio Legislature sent commendations to each of the 31 kids that built and flew the 1902 Wright Glider in June 2005. And the eighth grade is well into their third airplane project -- a replica of the 1909 Wright-Clark Glider, the world's first trainer. Russia Local may just be the first school system ever to build their own air force! Want to see their flights? Click:

Oftentimes, kind and generous people do wonderful things for us to keep our educational programs alive and vibrant. Today, we're grateful to:
Virginia Kettering Foundation
Walt and Ann Hoy
Jack and Betty Darst
Walt and Ann Hoy (Yes, again -- these good folks can't seem to do enough for us. The least we can do is list them twice to show our appreciation.)

The Wright Brothers Aeroplane Company and Museum of Pioneer Aviation is a forum for early aviation historians and enthusiasts, a living document that grows and evolves. We invite you to participate, ask questions, share information, and submit pages on early aviation topics. We especially need your help on those pages that are still under construction (and there are a lot of them -- it's a vast subject.)
