Fast Affiliate Ratings

-Total Viewers:
Fox: 20.53 million, NBC: 12.57, CBS: 12.27, ABC: 6.80, WB: 5.10, UPN: 2.74

-Adults 18-49:
Fox: 8.4/22, NBC: 4.1/11, CBS: 3.7/10, ABC: 2.5/ 6, WB: 2.2/ 6, UPN: 1.0/ 3

-----

-Yesterday's Winners:
American Idol (Fox), House (Fox), The Amazing Race 7 (CBS), Law & Order: SVU (NBC), Law & Order: Criminal Intent (NBC)

-Honorable Mention:
Gilmore Girls (WB)

-Yesterday's Losers:
My Wife and Kids (ABC), Most Outrageous TV Moments (NBC), All of Us (UPN), George Lopez (ABC), Eve (UPN), Blind Justice (ABC)

-American Idol Update:
I hate to say it, but I agree with Simon and think that the talented (and more deserving) Vonzell Solomon is going home tonight. As good as she was last night, almost consistently landing in the bottom three keeps her at risk. Although the improved Scott Savol probably has his bags unpacked, and the cheesy Anthony Federov is likely to sneak by, in the end it's obvious that the final two will be rocker Bo Bice and sugary Carrie Underwood. Go Carrie!

-Ratings Breakdown:
Led by American Idol (Overnights: 16.3/24; Viewers: 23.80 million; A18-49: 9.7/28) and House (Overnights: 12.2/17; Viewers: 17.26 million; A18-49: 7.0/17), Fox scored another easy Tuesday victory, ranking first in all three categories from 8-10 p.m. As a reminder, total viewers and adults 18-49 are based on the fast affiliate ratings.

In season or series-finale news, CBS' veteran Judging Amy closed year six a distant second in the 10 p.m. hour in the overnights (8.8/14), total viewers (10.78 million) and adults 18-49 (3.1/ 8). NBC's Law & Order: Criminal Intent (which aired out of a Law & Order: SVU cross-over episode) led the time period with a 13.8/21 in the overnights, 18.67 million viewers and a 6.3/17 among adults 18-49, while ABC's Blind Justice sunk to a typically last-place 4.6/ 7 in the overnights, 6.40 million viewers and a 2.4/ 6 among adults 18-49. Considering CBS has up to 6 1/2 hours of programming that needs to be fixed elsewhere for next season, Judging Amy could get a reprieve. As for Blind Justice, the axe is ready to swing.

Despite the Tuesday Fox juggernaut, CBS remains a force to reckon with in the Tuesday 8-10 p.m. block with its combination of the underrated NCIS (Overnights: #2, 10.0/15; Viewers: #2, 12.99 million; A18-49: #2, 3.0/ 9) and The Amazing Race 7 (Overnights: #3, 9.2/13; Viewers: #3, 13.04 million; A18-49: #2, 5.3/13). If there is any justice on The Amazing Race, the more deserving Uchenna and Joyce will win the cool $ million, not reality fame seekers Rob and Amber. As for Meredith and Gretchen - kudos on a great race!

Opposite American Idol and NCIS, ABC sitcoms My Wife and Kids (Overnights: #5, 3.8/ 6; Viewers: #3, 5.99 million; A18-49: #4, 1.9/ 6) and George Lopez (Overnights: #5, 3.6/ 5; Viewers: #3, 6.00 million; A18-49: #4t, 2.0/ 5) continue to fade into oblivion, while two episodes of NBC's Most Outrageous TV Moments averaged a typically bland 4.4/ 7 in the overnights (#4), 5.40 million viewers (#4) and a 1.8/ 5 among adults 18-49 (#5). Also in the 8 p.m. hour was the WB's healthy Gilmore Girls (Overnights: #3, 4.9/ 7; Viewers: #4, 5.41 million; A18-49: #3, 2.3/ 6), and struggling UPN comedies All Of Us (Overnights: #6, 1.7/ 3; Viewers: #6, 2.16 million; A18-49: #6, 0.9/ 3) and Eve (Overnights: #6, 1.9/ 3; Viewers: #6, 2.43 million; A18-49: #6, 1.0/ 3). Will both All of Us and Eve be back in 2005-06? Stay tuned.

At 9 p.m., and against House and The Amazing Race 7, a Tuesday 9 p.m. edition of NBC's Law & Order: SVU got plenty of mileage with a 10.7/15 in the overnights (#2), 13.62 million viewers (#2) and a 4.2/10 among adults 18-49 (#3). On ABC, the already renewed but fading According To Jim (Overnights: #4, 5.3/ 7; Viewers: #4, 8.47 million; A18-49: #4, 3.2/ 8) led into a repeat of the sitcom at a fourth-place 4.3/ 6 in the overnights, 7.57 million viewers and a 3.0/ 7 among adults 18-49.

Also in the 9 p.m. hour was the WB's One Tree Hill (Overnights: #5, 3.2/ 4; Viewers: #5, 4.80 million; A18-49: #5, 2.1/ 5) and UPN's critically acclaimed but struggling Veronica Mars (Overnights: #6, 2.2/ 3; Viewers: #6, 2.65 million; A18-49: #6, 1.1/ 3) at typical Tuesday levels. Let's hope more viewers discover the alluring Ms. Mars in year two.

National Ratings in Primetime - Week of April 25, 2005:
CBS and Fox Continue to Dominate

Sharing the No. 1 spot, CBS was first for the week of April 25 in households, total viewers and adults 25-54, while Fox maintained leadership in adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. Both networks were up year-to-year, with growth in the five surveyed categories of 8 to 14 percent for CBS, and 5 to 13 percent for Fox. Although American Idol remained at the top of the charts, also worth noting on Fox was the season-premiere of Family Guy, which ranked No. 10 overall for the week among adults 18-49 (5.8/13), and the time-period premiere of lead-out American Dad, which tied for No. 20, with a 4.7/10 in the demo. In addition, Fox's relocated Stacked, now airing Wednesday at 9:30 p.m. out of Idol, perked up to No. 17 in the demo with a 5.1/13.

In addition to the ongoing success of CSI (which came down slightly after being pushed back to 10 p.m. opposite NBC's ER due to the Presidential speech), Survivor: Palau, Everybody Loves Raymond, Two and a Half Men, CSI: Miami, CSI: NY (which benefited out of a repeat of CSI), and The Amazing Race 7, CBS Hallmark Hall of Fame made-for, Riding On the Bus With My Sister, also cracked the top 20 in total viewers with 14.98 million. The series-finale of CBS' JAG ranked No. 17 with 13.98 million viewers.

Second for the week among adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 was ABC, which was up by a hefty 20 percent in each demo versus one year-earlier. Despite finishing last for the week, UPN was also on the plus side, with gains of 16 to 27 percent. Although NBC and the WB both suffered losses, the wilting Peacock net was considerably worse at erosion of 23 to 37 percent.
