My film "There’s Something About Penguins” is the saga of how I survived a cruise to Antarctica, featuring four delightful species of penguins, plus whales, seals, icebergs, glaciers, human outposts, unbelievable scenery, and much more. Antarctica is a visual delight. The video can be seen on the web, if you have a high speed internet connection.

This is a free, non-commercial, streaming video on the Windows Media Player. No ads and no strings attached. I still sell absolutely nothing.

To get started, please copy the address of my video site into your browser:

http://www.geocities.com/intrepidberkeleyexplorer/Video.html

With any modem you can view a new gallery of Antarctica photos featuring penguins at:

http://www.geocities.com/intrepidberkeleyexplorer/Page5.html

There are over 30 of my other amateur travel videos on-line. Visit Italy, England, Peru, Bali, China, Hawaii, Russia, Mayan Pyramids, Greece, Turkey, or take an African safari; see whales, elephants, or polar bears.

The planet is yours, including my Home Page giant galaxy of still pictures at:

I have a book underway called Hockey Legend Myth and Verse. In one legend the youthful goalie king builds an ice palace and hockey arena in Antarctica. For an illustration I would like to x mark the spot on a map of Antarctica. Can anyone suggest a good spot?

Thanx in advance

Hi All
I would love to have some visitors from Antarctica!
It would be great to have a red dot placed on my Clustrmap from Antarctica. No visitors from Antarctica to date.

I wish to draw your attention to my Not for Profit ABU Fishing Website www.realsreels.com
and maybe even sign my Guestbook http://www.realsreels.com/contact/guestbooknewest5/gbook.php

I cannot afford to pay for advertising but I would like to let as many people all around the world become aware of my interest in promoting classic ABU fishing equipment (mainly pre mid 80’s)

I do hope you enjoy it and maybe will post the address on your fine website .
If you do so I can offer equivalent free promotion on my Links page.

Looking at most of the articles from the Antarcticles, one would think Global Warming is the single most important issue in the extreme South. But then, with an area overcrowded by alarmist scientist what should we expect. The louder they cry the more funding that recieve from idiot congressman in Washington. If all the ice melted what would the world loose? We would need to find alternative methods for drinking our favorite cold beverage.
One thing I've found, when environmentalist groups step up their drivel concerning their wallets, they're after something more than saving a few penguins. So let's get real. What are they really after? Nothing more than putting a few more dollars in their portfolio so they can send their children to Harvard or some other Lib breeding ground. When ice melts, it turns to water. Here is a concept, the oceans are full of water. Water takes less volume then ice. The only danger we, the people are facing is taming environmentalist refuse in the media. If environmentalist want the world to take them serious, they should consider truth and honest dialogue. It looks to me they are more concerned with funding instead of getting real jobs that contribute meaning to society. You don't need to agree with me but then few people in this world wouldn't know an original thought if it bit them.

I read about the Japanese whaler that has been crippled by fire (but not sunk). I propose that as this vessel, and the Japanese Govt. has defied world laws and opinion that whaling is immoral and whaling is unsustainable, it should be left to its own government to come to its aid. Entry into any Australian or NZ harbour should be declined. They are a wealthy country and can look after themselves. Maybe it will make them think twice about illegal whaling in the world's only remaining wilderness- Antarctica.

Why nobody until now search for Scott´s ice grave before remains go to the sea forever
It will be because Scott lost south pole race to Amundsen and the losers don´t merit we figth for them?
These lost souls deserve a christian burial and with modern technology maybe it´s easier to find them in the white desert
The loud silence about this subject is misterious and inexplicable

I have been looking to visit Antarctica for some time now and allmy travel agent enquiries have resulted in amazingly expensive costings, is there a suggested method of visiting and when is the bedst time? We would be coming in from Australia but the only trip I can find from here goes via New Zealand and doesn't seem to go very far into/around the Antarctic, if we are going that far we want to do a good job and see/experience as much as possible. Just an aside why is it so much extra to go kayaking off the cruise ships my husband is a kayak instructor and is a bit miffed at the extra cost of using a kayak for this.(don't worry this wont be something you can help me with). ok have a beaut day & thanks

About antarctica i have the following questions
1-Is the central polar plateau temperature going down if antarctica will be the heat drain of the world global heating clima?
2-Is the water temperature of southern sea rising up so much than the sunken ice banks of western antarctica will be in danger to break and collapse helping the global sea lever to rise up more faster than the foreseen?
3-Is the lower temperature on earth hapen on the Dome A in the middle of the antarctica cotinent?
4-Is the building of a China station on the Dome A more for the pride of a rising nation reaching the last unexplored spot on earth than for science research questions?
5-Is the annual sea ice shrinking helping global temperature rising more faster than foreseen?
And like this i have more questions to ask polar scientists in this International Polar Year
