Baylor assistant coach facing public urination charge

This was a Texas-Baylor game week story we sure didn’t expect:

The Waco Tribune-Herald reports that Baylor assistant coach Eric Schnupp has been cited on a misdemeanor charge of disorderly conduct/reckless exposure. He’s accused of relieving himself on the bar of a Waco nightclub.

Seems that police were already at the bar, Scruffy Murphy’s, at 2:26 a.m. Sunday when an employee says he saw Schnupp, um … we’ll let bartender Danny Severe describe it himself:

“While we were kicking everybody out, he apparently thought that nobody was looking and whipped it out and (urinated) on the bar. He tried to deny it, but there was definitely a puddle and there was no one else around him.”

The bar staff told police, who promptly popped Schnupp with the Class C misdemeanor citation.

Schnupp is in his first year at Baylor. He coaches the team’s offensive linemen and tight ends.

Baylor head coach Guy Morriss is taking the matter seriously and vows to handle it internally, the newspaper reports.

You are correct that there are all kinds on this board.

Allow me to restate my post by saying that I HOPE he is kidding and assumed that he was.

Certainly I was kidding with my "the world is his urinal" post.

I wonder if Schnupp would be happier at a school with some type of bird as a mascot. Birds fowl their own nests.

Look at the comments here, my friend. We have from serious Bible-thumping, Jesus-huggers to sarcastic, liberal a**holes all across the board - I didn't know which catagory bob belonged to. Who knows? May be some cultures in Cambodia, Nigeria, Tanzania, etc. DO pee on tables to say thank you. Did you know for sure, Indiana Jim?

Perhaps one of the men Schnupp was with was R. Kelly?

Word on the street is that Baylor's playbook was at his feet.

Jimmy--I expected a response like yours to trickle in, but am quite relieved others haven't dribbled out.

Did the bar get cited for over serving?? Maybe if he wasn't drunk he could have found his way to the bathroom!

I don't know if I'll ever be able to put my elbows up on a bar again...Thanks a lot, Schnupp!

Bob, Hmmm...I wouldn't call 3rd-world/tribal I'm calling you out on your claim - exactly what "cultures" allow that as a socially acceptable behavior (you said there are many)? or were you just joking?

So Barbara Boxxer is your current screen name. Too much a a puss to stay with only one.

Guy Morris the antithesis of a class act. It is not surprising that his coaches p**s in public.

Baylor is a fine university and deserve better than him.

I knew this article would spark a ridculous liberal vs conservative p*ssing contest (ooops). You're all wasting your time. Even a hundred more posts on this subject wouldn't give one side any advantage over the other; nor will one side convince the other. The only "victory" will be determined by whether who has more time to kill and type that final comment (doesn't mean s/he's right). Look for someone - whoever wants to "win" - typing that last word tonight at 1 in the morning. Get a life.

In many cultures, good service is rewarded by urinating on the hosts' table (or bar). Waco is thus quite clearly more progressive than Austin.

Liberals are not necessarily athiest, they just pick and choose what they want to believe. It's usually the opposite of what conservatives believe or what the rest of the libs tell them to believe.

Comments like "liberal athiest" are bigoted attacks for no reason. I'm liberal, catholic, church going just like all my liberal family and friends and most Democrates I know. How dare you generalize individuals and stereotype everyone. Its almost as bad as me saying conservatist/Republicans are ALL self righteous, greedy, hypocrites, gays, uncompassionate, unintelligent(as most there policies, issues or votes.)

Remember when that female student was kicked out of Baylor for being in Playboy even though she was not nude?

What are the chances this guy gets fired?

Can't really blame him though, Scruffy Murphy's is a toilet.

Exactly what I would have expected from Jim. And, obviously, Terry knows little about Baylor.

This doesn't surprise me about the Baptist-state school.
