“Editors aren’t the band of the moment, they’re the band of the decade” THE FLY.

The New Single, “Bullets” released 26th September 2005.

Editors have had a quite amazing year. Without hype and fanfare, the four piece have become chart property with singles “Munich” and “Blood” puncturing the Top 20. Debut album “The Back Room” saw them enter the chart at Number 13, meaning that the band who released their first limited single in January are now looking like one of the year’s most notable success stories.

“Bullets” was, in many ways, the song that first brought Editors to public attention. Famously sold out of its’ limited run in one day, the band have returned to the studio to re-record the track to devastating effect. With able help from Jacknife Lee, “Bullets” seems sure to elevate the band still further and beyond the markers of their current sold out tour and their soon to be sold out October UK tour. As copies of the original release on 7” and CD now command prices in excess of £30 on Ebay, the band also felt that it was right to reissue the single but also the correct thing to make sure that the original version retained it’s unique quality for those who first set them on the road to success.

Released with new and exclusive B-sides, the single formats see the band experiment further with their sound. “Time To Slow Down” features only vocalist Tom Smith and guitarist Chris Urbanowicz using multi tracked vocal and guitar harmonies in what Tom has suggested is a sideways homage to the Beach Boys. On the opposite side of the spectrum, the Maxi cd features an alternate take of previous single “Blood” which has been circulating around those in the know for some time. Recorded during the album sessions at 3am under the influence, this is a darker, harder cousin to the single release and a quite startling vocal take from Tom.

Formats for the single are as follows:

CD - ‘Bullets’ / ‘Come Share The View’

MAXI CD - ‘Bullets’ / I Buried The Devil’ / ‘Blood’

7” - ‘Bullets’ / ‘Time To Slow Down’

Editors have been on tour seemingly constantly since the start of the year. Following their current sell out UK tour, the band play the Reading and Leeds Festivals over the Bank Holiday and then play European festivals before returning to the UK for a further tour through September and October. Several of the venues on the tour have already been upgraded and many are close to selling out already. For full details, visit
