Chicago Honors Fallen Officers

Run_to_remember 5K run and walk to raise funds and awareness for  Chicago’s fallen and injured police officers.

WHAT:     Over two-thousand Chicago Police Officers, families of fallen officers and supporters of the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation are expected to participate in the third annual Run to Remember on Saturday, May 5th.  The Run to Remember is a 5K run/walk that takes place at the recently dedicated Gold Star Families Memorial and Park, just east of Soldier Field. This will be the first year that participants at the event will be able to enjoy the completed park and Memorial. Activities include appearances by the Mounted, K-9, and Helicopter units, as well as a junior jog and activities area for children.

In an effort to raise awareness for the Mission Beyond the Memorial, and the special needs of Officers who have been catastrophically injured in the line of duty, Run To Remember has partnered with Steve’s Team, a non-for profit organization that will be providing racing wheelchairs that will carry some very special children of Chicago Police officers.

                        

WHEN:     Saturday, May 5th  Pre-registration and full details online at www.cpdmemorial.org/run , or at the Chicago Police Academy, 1300 W. Jackson May 3rd and 4th from 8am-8pm.

                    Race Day On-site registration for participants begins at 6:30am.    Event begins at 8:00am.

                Waldron and Museum Campus Drive Exit 18th  Street from Lake Shore Drive and head East to  Waldron Drive . 

Complimentary  Parking available at the Waldron deck.

                        

WHO:        Nearly 2500 current Chicago Police Officers, families of fallen officers and Chicago residents will participate in this 5k run/walk.
