The Alberta Alliance is an outgrowth of the grassroots movement which built the federal Reform Party in the 1990's and later the Canadian Alliance. Led by founding leaders of the federal Reform Party and Canadian Alliance, the Alberta Alliance is focused on returning the people's voice to Government in Alberta.
Founded in 2002, the Alberta Alliance has quickly become the credible conservative alternative to Ralph Klein's Tories. Recent polls show the Alberta Alliance polling 19.8% province-wide and up to 33% in specific Ridings.
Alliance members share a common belief in the conservative values which propelled the federal Reform Party and Canadian Alliance to national prominence. Alliance members also share a common frustration with a Progressive Conservative government that has grown out of touch and has done little to address Alberta's real problems like record-long health care waiting lists, record-high residential and small business energy costs, and sky-rocketing insurance premiums.
