Tonkin opts for Rovers switch
Anthony Tonkin

Blue Square Premier side Forest Green Rovers have completed the signing of former Crewe defender Anthony Tonkin after he left Yeovil Town.

The 27-year-old was offered a two-year deal by League Two side Lincoln after he left the Glovers by mutual consent this summer but has decided to join Rovers.

The Cornishman turned down the chance to stay in the Football League to stay closer to his south-west roots and manager Jim Harvey hailed his capture as "a vital piece of our jigsaw".

Harvey told the club's official website: "His addition fills the void caused by Kevin Nicholson moving on, and his experience will be a great asset."
