The Show

I think OSU is a great defensive football team, but there is some concern because the truth is they've really not played a great football team in any phase yet this season. Ohio State's schedule has been a great benefit to them coming off the blowout in the national championship game. It has allowed them to gain confidence and improve with a young QB running the offense. If Ohio State would have played a top-notch opponent early, I don't think they would be in the position they are now. Ohio State is a great example of how important scheduling is. Let's be honest, who have they really beat?"

Ohio State has really played no one to date -- win at Washington, win over a slumping Purdue team. Other than that, Northwestern and a bunch of schools from Ohio. I'd say South Florida's win at South Florida and win over West Virginia out-weigh any of the Buckeyes' victories to this point."

It's a totally different level of competition. How many players come into the NFL that never make it? The best of the best are in the NFL. The quality of play in college is far from the NFL. It doesn't mean that you have the physical qualifiacations and overall skill level to succeed in the NFL. Some of these guys play in good systems againse mediocre offenses or defenses. That was what makes the evaluation process so difficult."

I think Saint Mary's and San Diego have a shot to get to the Zags this year, but it's going to have to be at the tourney. We're still likely a year or two away from seeing the WCC as a two-bid under any other scenario than Gonzaga as an at-large."
