Leek Town Saved - Press Statement     11/06/2007

Leek Town FC are pleased to report that a consortium of Leek businessmen have donated funds and pledged future monies sufficient for the club to appoint management and playing staff for the forthcoming season in the Unibond Premier League. This is a great relief for the club and its supporters and our thanks go to the benefactors involved.

The appointment of a manager will be made known later in the week and it is expected that a full squad of players will be realised in the next couple of weeks.

This reprieve will also allow the positive communication to continue with the SMDC and their possible involvement in developing the Harrison Park facility. The board are meeting Monday to decide on the clubs management and commercial structure. Time now needs to be used constructively to avoid repetition of this situation arising again. The club is now able to go forward positively and agree a strategy to safe guard the clubs future.
