Listen to Britney Spears' 'Blackout'

Britney Spears' long-awaited comeback album is officially here. The quirkily titled 'Blackout' features the single 'Gimme More,' plus 11 more danceable tracks. 'Piece of Me' finds the diva half-rapping her best tough guy impression, issuing a challenge to her paparazzi pursuers. 'Radar' borrows vocal effects from Madonna's last outing, while 'Heaven on Earth' sees Spears inching towards Kylie Minogue's electro-pop territory. Judge for yourself whether the one-time pop queen can reclaim her crown.

Lil Wayne Gets the Best of Bootleggers

The bootleggers can't stop Lil Wayne. The platinum-selling rapper will release 'The Carter III: The Leak,' including the previously leaked tracks 'I Feel Like Dying' and 'Prostitute Flange,' on December 18.

"I'm a perfectionist," the rapper explained to MTV. "I'mma change a couple verses, couple of lines. I ain't gonna change nothing up where it f---s up the song, I'll just make it more complete. There are songs out there that weren't finished; I'll add hooks, third verses. We're working for the fans."

The song 'Gossip,' previewed at the BET Hip-Hop Awards last week, will be the album's first single.

Meanwhile, the official 'Carter III' album, which will contain all new material, is now scheduled for a February release date.

Simple Plan Returns With First Single in Three Years

It's been three years since we've heard from Candian pop-punkers Simple Plan. Well, wait no more. On October 29 at 6PM ET, the multi-platinum band will premiere their new single, 'When I'm Gone,' with a live video and webchat on their official website. Simple Plan will also be taking fan questions and revealing details about their as-yet-untitled album, which is slated for release on January 29.

"[On Monday], we will finally have a new song to play to all of our fans," drummer Chuck Comeau tells PopEater. "Honestly, I still can't believe it's been three years since our last record came out. What a crazy journey it's been for us. After two years of touring all over the world, we started writing songs for our third album. We thought we would be done in 3-4 months but we were dead wrong. It took us 14 months instead."

"The writing process and recording took us to San Diego, L.A., Miami, Stockholm, Montreal and New York City," Comeau continued. "Honestly, we did nothing else than focus on songwriting for more than a year. We worked harder than we ever did before and came up with what we feel is the best music we ever made."

Jessica Simpson to Record Country Album

Jessica Simpson's been spotted in Nashville quite a bit lately. The pop starlet is in Music City to explore the notion of recording a country album. According to Nashville ABC affiliate WKRN, Simpson is in talks with some of country music's heaviest hitters to collaborate on her new project, including John Rich (Big & Rich), Vince Gill and Simpson's co-star in 'The Dukes of Hazzard' movie, Willie Nelson. The singer's also reportedly met with executives at CMT (Country Music Television) and Nashville's Sony/BMG record label.

Other news outlets are reporting that Simpson actually moved to Nashville, though she was also recently seen apartment-hunting in New York. Simpson has said that she is making the move to the Big Apple to be closer to her record label. She also has an upcoming gig in New York, co-hosting 'The View' on November 15 and 16.

11 Questions With Carrie Underwood: No. 1

Carrie Underwood has a tough act to follow: herself. Since blazing onto the country music scene after a 2005 'American Idol' win, the singer has seen her debut album become the most successful 'Idol'-alumnus CD yet, with six-times platinum sales, collecting countless awards in the process. Now, she'll try to top that with her second album, 'Carnival Ride.' We sat down with the notoriously private Carrie to talk about beating the sophomore slump, staying true to 'Idol' and the number-one man in her life.

What is the main difference between 'Carnival Ride' and your first album
?

I got to write a little bit more on this one. And we got more time to make it really fantastic. I've really gotten the opportunity to get excited about this one. It was great, because I was there for every step, so I think it's definitely more me!

'Carnival Ride' is a little more country than your first album. Does that reflect where you are right now as an artist?

I sing country music. I love country music. It's what I've always wanted to do. With the last one, the crossover success we had was with a very country song ['Before He Cheats']. So I think that showed everybody that people love country music -- they just might not know it yet [laughs].

Is it any different going back home to Oklahoma now that you're a big star?

Things have definitely changed a lot. People drive by my parents' house, which scares me! I'm sure people don't know they're scaring us, but I told my parents to call the police [laughs]. Because I'm sure they mean well, but you don't know ... so it scares me when people go by there. I don't appreciate it.

Do you ever miss your anonymity?

It's just really weird sometimes when people say negative things. Sometimes I wish I was anonymous to naysayers [laughs], because I consider myself to be a people-pleaser. So whenever I see something that's negative, it's kind of like ... wow, where does this hate come from?

But you have been seen out recently with 'Gossip Girl' actor Chace Crawford. So, are you seeing him romantically, or are you just friends?

He seems like a very nice person, and . . . .um . . . yeah. [laughs]

What do you think of former 'American Idol' contestants who bash the show?

I don't really ever understand it, because whatever they're doing -- whether they won or not -- is 1 million times more than they would be doing without the show. It's what gave us the opportunity to do what we do. Anybody who disses it has no respect.

Of all of the trophies you've taken home, which means the most to you?

I really love the New Artist awards, because you only get one shot at those. [Carrie won new artist awards at the Grammys, CMAs, ACMs, AMAs and Billboard awards.]

Unlike a lot of celebrities your age, you've managed to keep out of the tabloids and stay out of trouble. How do you remain grounded?

I live in Nashville, Tennessee [laughs]! We don't have paparazzi stalker people -- not that any one of them would be interested in me anyway! But it's very normal, and it's very nice. I can do all my work here, and it's not "La-la Land."

Did you have any childhood celebrity crushes?

Oh, I had a major childhood crush! I don't know what he's up to now ... but I had posters of Jonathan Taylor Thomas on my walls as a young kid.

What is the biggest misconception about you?

I think people might get the wrong impression of me if they ever meet me, because I'm quiet. I'm even-keeled. And I think some people might take that the wrong way, like I'm not happy to be somewhere . . . Sometimes, if people say that I'm not a nice person, that might sting a little bit, because they're not attacking anything specific. People just make stuff up to make you look bad, and that kinda hurts.
