Tuck Global Consultancy

The Tuck Global Consultancy course gives second-year students the chance to put their education into practice worldwide. From the mountains of Nepal to a world-famous Scottish golf course to Warsaw's old quarter, students have consulted with over 70 global organizations on over 100 projects in more than 50 countries. Along the way, they've learned how to operate effectively in new environments and cultures—a prerequisite for success in a globalized economy.

On-site consulting projects are carried out by small teams of students working under the supervision of Tuck professors who have extensive consulting backgrounds. A high percentage of the second-year class participates in this elective, defining projects in the spring or early fall, then traveling to their assigned countries in August and September or November and December for on-site research and analysis. At the end of this period, they deliver initial presentations of findings to their client's overseas-based senior management. After they return to the U.S., the teams complete full reports and present to U.S.-based management within four to six weeks.

Clients for Tuck Global Consultancy projects include: Cargill, Citibank, Corning, DuPont, Eli Lilly, Hewlett-Packard, Home Depot, International Finance Corporation, John Deere, Johnson & Johnson, Maytag, McGraw-Hill, Nike, Remy-Cointreau, Timberland, Walt Disney, and Whirlpool.

This course is sponsored by Tuck's Center for International Business.
