Debriefer: Steamclam.com's Matt Kliegman

If we had to find ourselves a modern-day Renaissance man, why not Matt Kliegman. DJ, artist, writer, and filmmaker, Kliegman's a man of many parts. As proof, check out his site, Steamclam.com, plus regularly irregular nights at New York's Gallery Bar, and even better, he's a Midwestern boy with a thing for farmer's daughters. Though Kliegman's thriving in NYC, he's revisiting his roots for our collective benefit.

We're going to imprison you in the city of your choice for the rest of your natural life. You can do anything you want there, but you must stay in that city forever. Where would you choose?
Usually I'd say New York, but I think in this situation I'd have to say Milwaukee. I feel like the locals would be a little bit more considerate of my bizarre situation.

Why would you live in this city forever and not somewhere else?
There are miles of cornfields just outside the city. I miss being able to jam some tunes and drive around the corn. Burn some gas up. MORE »

Debriefer: Tango Kiss with Marina Palmer

Hoping to master the art of living in the present like the Porteños, writer Marina Palmer took a trip to Buenos Aires. She fell hard for the city, and the vacation turned into a permanent move. Her experiences there ultimately inspired her memoir, Kiss & Tango: Looking for Love in Buenos Aires . Palmer still lives and loves in Buenos Aires, and she's happy to share.

We're going to imprison you in the city of your choice for the rest of your natural life. You can do anything you want there, but you must stay in that city forever. Where would you choose?
Buenos Aires.

Why would you live in this city forever and not somewhere else?
Because it is the most seductive city in the world; its inhabitants are gorgeous and ooze charm. Porteños are warm, vivacious, sophisticated, creative, deeply neurotic, and maddeningly unpredictable. The atmosphere is vibrant, the streets noisy and chaotic. Life here is completely dysfunctional. You won't get bored for a second. MORE »

Debriefer: Comic Max Silvestri

When not posting on Max Silvestri Wants This Inside You or grillmastering delicious food on his terrace, comedian Max Silvestri can be caught up on stage being professionally clever. And while you may or may not be able to catch his cooking skills, you can see the man at work on October 14 at Rififi when he hosts his monthly show "I Like Attention," or online as a regular commenter on VH1's Best Night Ever.

We're going to imprison you in the city of your choice for the rest of your natural life. You can do anything you want there, but you must stay in that city forever. Where would you choose?
I will probably come off like a toolbox for saying it, but Brooklyn. It is a huge and amazing city with a lifetime's worth of places at which to drink, eat, and also drink. Also, thanks for specifying that I will only be forced to remain in the city for the rest of my natural life. It is good to know that if I die and science finds a way to put my brain in a robot body, I will be free to leave this hypothetical prison-borough. I imagine the Atlantic Yards to be the center of this terrifying panopticon. MORE »

Debriefer: Jane Feltes of 'This American Life'

Jane Feltes definitely has an ear for radio; currently she works as a producer for NPR's This American Life, the famed radio show that has, over the years, introduced us to a legion of artists and writers. When she isn't working for the radio, she serves as producer and music supervisor for the television series version of TAL on Showtime.

Miami is the only city I've visited where I thought (even before you asked me!) "I wish I could stay here forever." Kinda like how you feel about amusement parks when you're little. I've lived in Chicago and New York and visited a ton of other cities, but none of them get me like Miami. MORE »

We're going to imprison you in the city of your choice for the rest of your natural life. You can do anything you want there, but you must stay in that city forever. Where would you choose?
New York.

Why would you live in this city forever and not somewhere else?
Why New York? Because in New York you have everything. You have every body and every thing so it's like a mirror image of the world. You have all races, all genders, you have all types of cultures in there, you have all kinds of food. I mean, you know, it's an exciting city, it never sleeps. So you've got all kinds of educational experiences you could have there. I mean it's just unlimited.

In what part of the city would you reside?
Definitely Trump Towers man. Trump Towers man, it's a fly party, the one's that face the Hudson on 72nd. That's exactly what I'm talking about. It's a primo view, I like that. MORE »

Boulder, Colorado! With mountains, fresh air, all the sports you could ever stomach, and one hell of an intellectual population (with the university, NORAD, NCAR, NIST, and NOA, we have our fair share of PhDs) the town is sound in both mind and body! MORE »

Debriefer is a weekly two-part series. On Fridays, we interview random individuals about their favorite cities. On the following Monday, we map their favorite places in those cities. If you'd like to be interviewed for Debriefer, let us know.

After winning the BBC's MasterChef in 1994, Gerry Goldwyre decided to make his life's passions his life's work. He and his wife restored an 1879 water tower outside Edinburgh, Scotland, turning it into a gorgeous home and private restaurant, the Water Tower. As an architect, food critic, and professional painter, Goldwyre truly has enough talent to serve up alongside his culinary creations.

We're going to imprison you in the city of your choice for the rest of your natural life. You can do anything you want there, but you must stay in that city forever. Where would you choose?
I would always keep a base, a bolt hole here (Eskbank, 20 minutes outside Edinburgh, Scotland). This is a magnificent location; we are steeped in culture. We call it the half hour city [meaning] half an hour from the city, half an hour from the ocean, and half an hour from the depths of the country. MORE »

Debriefer is a weekly two-part series. On Fridays, we interview random individuals about their favorite cities. On the following Monday, we map their favorite places in those cities. If you'd like to be interviewed for Debriefer, let us know.

Justin "Precious" Tranter is the singer/songwriter for New York City based band Semi Precious Weapons. The self-proclaimed "Garage Glam Heroes" are so lethally gorgeous and talented that this is a moniker hard to argue. Splitting time between touring in support of their debut album We Love You, design work, and an upcoming comic, Tranter answers our questions with his own arsenal.

We're going to imprison you in the city of your choice for the rest of your natural life. You can do anything you want there, but you must stay in that city forever. Where would you choose?
Ahhh. Well, I guess I'm going to have to say New York City.

Why would you live in this city forever and not somewhere else?
My band is here, my best friends are here, my jewelry business is here, I like my friends, I like my band, and I like my jewelry. And even though New York has turned into an overgrown advertisement for Viadisneycleargapchannelcom, I'm still into it. Lots of people to love, lots of people to make fun of. MORE »
