If you’ve heard a cell phone ring in the past month, you are probably familiar with Mims. The New York rapper scored a smash hit with “This Is Why I’m Hot,” a catchy little thing with a cool, minimalist beat and some goofy charm. Nothing else on Mims’ debut, Music Is My Savior, is as instantly gratifying as “Hot.” But the beats keep things moving: “Cop It” traffics in big, nickel-plated bounce, and “Big Black Train” is another bare-bones banger. Mims can’t carry a whole album, and Savior is long on quasi-Southern junk rhymes about Mims’ general excellence and panty-melting suaveness. Kick back and enjoy it for what it's worth.

i disagree with the other comments, although this is not an amazing album it is far from shit. too many people these days exept nothing but exelence. a good album is one that comes out with some nice songs and thats it. an amzing album is one that every song is a hit and you cant get enough of(very rear). for example marshel mathers lp, 2001 and get rich or die trying. there are some good songs on this album doctor doctor, bick black train, they dont wanna play and i did you wrong. granted some of the choruses are a bit fla and the lyrics can be fairly simple but so what! have u ever but on a beastyboy track there lyrical skill is about as good as a 10 year old but they still rock shit. kill all haters.

This is a fantastic representation of why hip-hop and rap are dying a very slow and painful death. If you cant come up with anything better than "You aint cuz you not" then you probably should be in a genre involving talented lyricism. Right now Mims is pissing on rap's grave.

If Mims is where hip-hop is headed, then hip-hop is surely doomed. This guy is total garbage. Where's the creatitive lyricism? The wit? The basic third grade education? I'm hot because I'm fly? You ain't because you not?!!! Yeah, Mims, you definitely didn't say a damn thing on your track. Terrible terrible terrible. Kanye, Eminem, T.I., Andre and Big Boi need to pull a group assassination on this idiot before he disgraces their profession.
