Cory Undlin is entering his third season on Romeo Crennel’s staff. Undlin will serve as secondary and assistant special teams coach after serving the previous two seasons as defensive quality control coach. Undlin came to Cleveland from the New England Patriots, where he spent the 2004 season as the defensive assistant helping with the defensive backs. Undlin was part of a Patriots team that won back-to-back Super Bowl championships and also won an NFL record 21 straight games.
Before joining New England, Undlin spent two seasons assisting with the defensive backs as a graduate assistant at Fresno State University (2002-03). During those two seasons, Fresno State won back-to-back Silicon Valley Bowls by defeating Georgia Tech and UCLA, respectively.
Prior to Fresno State, Undlin spent four years at Cal Lutheran University as a linebackers/defensive coordinator (1998-2002). Undlin played defensive back at Cal Lutheran from 1990–1994, and received a Master’s degree from CLU in 2003.
Undlin was born June 29, 1971, in St. Cloud, Minn. Undlin and his wife Amy, have one son, Caden (4) and daughter, Brooke (1-15-07).
