Doyle retires after injury-hit career

Injury plagued Sydney AFL ruckman Stephen Doyle has retired after eight seasons, during which he spent more time on the club's casualty list than in their senior side.
Doyle 26, was a strong performer in the team's 2006 grand final loss to West Coast, but played just 47 games in his stint at the club.
He played 19 games in 2004, but averaged just four games a year in his other seven seasons.
The 204cm South Australian joined Sydney under the father-son rule, after his dad Robert played 77 games for South Melbourne in the early 1970s.
He didn't play a senior game in 2007 and his season was cut short by the latest in a series of knee injuries.
Despite Doyle's departure, the Swans are still well served for ruckmen, with Darren Jolly and Peter Everitt on their list.
On Wednesday, Sydney finalised their list ahead of the national, pre-season and rookie drafts.
Kieren Jack, Ed Barlow, and Luke Brennan were all promoted to the senior list from the rookie list.
They joined a list bolstered by defender Martin Mattner and forward Henry Playfair, who were acquired from Adelaide and Geelong respectively during trade week.
Midfielder and local product Jack, 20, the son of former Australian rugby league Test fullback Garry Jack, played two senior games in 2007 after he was temporarily elevated to the senior list following a long term injury to Lewis Roberts-Thomson.
Tall utility Barlow 20, who hails from the NSW town of Bega, made three senior appearances in the 2007 campaign.
Utility Brennan 22, notched five senior games for Sydney this year in addition to the 19 he tallied in the four previous seasons with Hawthorn.
Craig Bird was promoted from the scholarship list to Sydney's senior list and will be selected with the Swans last choice in the national draft.
The Swans will have two selections, picks 11 and 26, in the AFL national draft.
Sydney will not be participating in the pre-season draft given the club will have the maximum number of players on its list after selections at the national draft.
Nick Smith was retained as a second-year rookie, while Brendan Murphy and Jake Orreal will also join the rookie list when pre-selected at December's rookie draft.
Doyle apart, other players leaving the club were Adam Schneider and Sean Dempster, who were traded to St Kilda.
Jonathan Simpkin, Simon Phillips and Luke Vogels were delisted from the senior list and Matthew Davis and Earl Shaw from the rookie list.
Two 2007 rookies Matthew O'Dwyer and Sam Rowe were delisted but were offered the opportunity to resume pre-season training with the club in a bid to be re-drafted in the rookie draft.
