Site News

10/3 - Added a Last AP Poll Appearances page.

10/2 - I have begun adding game results to the database. With over 17,000 records to add, any help would be appreciated. Contact me and I'll send you a formatted spreadsheet for easy data entry.

9/26 - Added a Research Project page.

9/14 - Began adding Coaches poll data starting with the most recent and working back. This will be a slow process as there are approximately 800+ polls to enter.

9/10 - Added AP streak data for Top 10, Top 5, and #1 appearances.

9/7 - The AP has announced that lower-division teams are now eligible for the Top 25.

9/4 - In 1950, Michigan State dropped 18 spots after losing to UR Maryland 34-7 at home. This is the biggest drop I can find so far from one week to the next in the same season. It does not include teams that fell completely out of the rankings like Michigan has. Oddly enough, the Spartans had just climbed 17 spots (#19 to #2) the week before after beating #3 Michigan (who then fell to #19) 14-7 in Ann Arbor.

Update: The AP reports that there have been 4 top-5 teams fall from the rankings.

About This Site

This site is a spinoff of the AP/BCS History section that was on SoonerStats.com since 2001. It contains all weekly AP football polls from 1936 to present as well as all weekly BCS rankings from 1998 to present.

Based on Lowell Greunke's book, and updated/corrected with the help from some very generous contributors, the AP polls in this archive are as complete and accurate as currently possible.
