Sister Cities

The Sister City movement commenced internationally shortly after the end of the Second World War.  The Sister City concept is designed around people to people relationships and communication between the many cultures across the globe.

Gold Coast City’s first Sister City relationship commenced with Fort Lauderdale, United States of America and was signed on October 20, 1980.

Gold Coast City has seven active Sister City relationships and one friendship agreement.  These relationships are successful in fostering closer business and cultural ties.  In total the Gold Coast has 13 city relationships.
