This is the 'NEW' base version of the DH Fishing System. There will be no 'future' base versions. This one is it folks. It allows you to custom build any add-on to the fishing system without interfering with the base system. There are many new features here. Read Below! CEP Compatible / Non-CEP Compatible

50 Freshwater and Saltwater Fish / Modeled and Textured Fishing Rods / 31 Types of Bait / Builder Customization for Modules using .2da files (no more building modules!) / Complete Merchant System with price increase and decreases / Complete Tutorial for creating custom content including an Alpha Tutorial guide. // And a lot more.

Plz check out my entries. I'm currently making a few simple modules, designing 3 special characters, and hope to someday be good this stuff.

This is Vinchenzo, finishing his post with the following advice:

Don't use Latin improperly (Lupis means grey, Rufus is red, Canid is dog, so on.) Furries annoy me with their improper usage of such. And I'm a furry!!! Ugh...

Don't vote for Beta things unless told they are finished, unless posted specifically by the author.

Hello, I would like to thank you for all the work done on this. It looks awesome. Only problem is I am running Hotu, sou and cep and when i went to add the hak there was a list compile errors the size of Andre the Giant. What did I do wrong? And also I ve read some stuff that this is it. Thats all folks and no more upgrades or anything... please dont let this be the system looks awesome and not too knock the other systems out there but I dont really like them. It wouldnt matter to me much... but i am an avid fisherman and am building a module now so I wanted to incorporate both and have an awesome mod. Please any help is appreciated.

also have 1 coment : your use of 2das is purely genious work, im sure this will pave the way for some ground breaking work from others and myself in the future.

Id like to know how you feel about someone Incorperating your fishing system into various trade skills both on the vault or in the works. Is / would this be ok (if said persons Gave Suficient Praise to your system and you as well).

I have been running some tests with your DH Fishing v2 and am incredibly impressed with the system. My build team for my PW are having a grea time with it. Great stuff!
However, I believe I have found a bug that could be a major problem. I am using the normal setup for testing, not combined with CEP or anything, just the normal setup.
What we have found is that you can use the fish you caught as bait, catch a fish, and the bait fish does not dissapear, allowing the fisherman to fish for free forever. Also, the fish will bite on any object put into the bait rigger from your fishing poles to house keys to armor and helms and can be caught.
Please advise me if I am setting something up wrong, but if not, this may need to be addressed.
The system is great and I love it and intend to use it in my PW. I just want it to be working right and bug/exploit free when doing so.
Please advise.

Aye, the configuration 2da files are not optional. They are what makes the system really great. :) They allow you, the module builder, the ability to set any option, configuration, skill, price, etc. for the system (while the server is running) without having to restart or rebuild your module.

Okay, never mind. I figured it out. I thought that using the files provided for the Override directory was optional, for people afraid of hak files as you more or less put it. After I put the configuration 2da files into the hak, the demo module worked.

Now all I have to do is integrate it with the rest of my PW. Thanks for writing this. :)

I like the idea of it. I want to use it. I could not get the demo mod to work. It kept telling me I was not near a fishing hole.

I had bought bait and put it in the bait rigger. I had bought a rod, equipped it, put it on a hotkey and made it user-functioned. I tried all three areas, about six different rods, and four kinds of bait. I tried all over the map, near any reeds. Each time I got the casting animation and the message that I was not near to a fishing hole.

So, what did I do wrong, or how do I fix this?

Hi there folks:

I just wanted to add another note concerning this system. While the system is very easy to install and configure, and I feel it will add a very rewarding atmosphere to your world, I consider it a "builder's version". In this sense only, I opted to not place everything in a single hak. This is why you will find haks and erfs in the system package.

If I opted to create a single hak that incorporated every script/object/etc. and still wanted to maintain a solid builder's system, the file download would have exceeded 35 megs. I felt that this size was a little too large to do.

So, a quick note for those of you who want to incorporate the system without having to import erfs etc. You can use NWN Viewer to extract every resource from the erf file that applies to your installation type, and then combine it with the hak file that applies to your installation type. This will allow you to create one solid hak file for the system and keep your PW scripts separate from the fishing scripts/resources etc.

I just wanted to bring this tidbit of information to you and for most experienced NWN users, they will probably already know how to do this. However, if you would like to keep all fishing resources separate from your module resources, this would be the way to do it.

Yes there are no issues with CEP and I've included variations of the hak files to work with CEP or without CEP. It is also very easy to adapt the hak to any master hak you have created. It's not that difficult.

I've included a step by step process for how to "correctly" create a master 2da hak for your PW using all of your current haks in the "troubleshooting" section. Again, it is probably easier to just download the system, review the help file, read the sections that you have questions or concerns about, and then post a question here or at the NWN Fisherman's Retreat if you feel something wasn't answered well enough.

Yes it does. Or you can use the override directory. I've included an exported override directory for those that want to use this in single modules, etc. but you will need a hak in order to have the new fishing inventory icons, the new modeled fishing rods, etc.

Otherwise, you wouldn't be able to see the fishing rods or the fish. There are complete instructions for installation and even for combining your 2das. I've even included a CEP version of 2da and a non-cep version of 2da for module builders.

It is best to download it, try the custom module I've included, read the help file and see how extensive the system is and how easy I've made it so that you can incorporate this into your fishing world.

If you are running a PW, complete customization is done through 2da files that reside "only" in the server override directory which allow the builder to change skill values, prices, options, etc. without ever having to rebuild the module.
