The F&F; franchise ran out of gas half way into the 2001 original. There is no excuse for this second sequel unless you don't mind watching a muscle car showroom disguised as a movie. Lucas Black stars as Sean, a troubled American teen who avoids a jail sentence by relocating to Tokyo and living with his Navy ramrod of a dad (Brian Goodman). There he collides with a pileup of gearhead cliches as well as the Japanese phenom of "drift racing" in which drivers slide cars around hard corners at super speeds. Director Justin Lin started promisingly with Better Luck Tomorrow, took a wrong turn with Annapolis, and now careens into disaster with a movie that suffers from blurred vision, motor drag and a plot that's running on fumes. Look out for a star cameo -- it’s the only surprise you'll get from this heap.

As B-grade a film as you're likely to find. Filled with 'Japanese actors' who aren't Japanese, all the realism of a 1940's alien film, and a plot that a monkey with a type writer could outdo it's best avoided at all cost. An insult to Japan and to anyone with a brain, the fact that kids seem to enjoy this trash, let alone find it convincing, speaks volumes about society and about the abysmal direction films are heading.

I totally disagree too, with the critic's comments. Describing the director's plan-"careens into disaster with a movie that suffers from blurred vision, motor drag and a plot that's running on fumes" in such a way would be too exaggerated. It's a great film and it beats the rest of the Fast And Furious sequels hands down. The effects were awesome and they did a good job with the whole movie. All of the actors were absolutely professional and natural. Now, Tokyo Drift's become one of my top-rated films!

Now I Know the critics have absoluitly no tast in movies i Don't think they could tell a good one from a bad one if they said this movie ran out of gas half way throught it because they are not in touch with the younger generation and they have to have a passion for movies to understand this movie because drifting is becoming one of the fastest growing racing types in the us i give this movie 2 thumbs up and four stars it has great race and drift sceens i hope more come out like this.
