The Working-Calendar for The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Government 


  The Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is situated in the utmost west China. As a result, there is a time difference of 2 hours between Xinjiang and most eastern regions of China such as Beijing, and the local time - Urumqi Time is used here. Urumqi Time(GMT+6) is 2 hours behind Beijing Time, i.e. when it is 10 o’clock Beijing Time, it is 8 o’clock Urumqi Time. So, there is a big difference in working-timetable between government organizations of Xinjiang and that of inland provinces. Working-timetable of the autonomous regional government, regional government departments and government organizations of most localities of Xinjiang: 

May—End of September (Summer timetable)

A.M. 09:30——13:30 (Beijing Time) [07:30——11:30(Urumqi Time)]

P.M. 16:00——20:00 (Beijing Time) [14:00——18:00(Urumqi Time)]

October—End of April of Next Year (Winter Timetable)

A.M. 10:00——14:00 (Beijing Time) [08:00——12:00(Urumqi Time)]

P.M. 15:30——19:30 (Beijing Time) [13:30——17:30(Urumqi Time)]

Urumqi municipal government organizations practise the unified winter timetable of the autonomous region all the year round. Work timetable for organizations of Turpan prefecture government:

May—End of September (Summer timetable)

A.M. 09:30——13:00 (Beijing Time) [07:30——11:00(Urumqi Time)]

P. M. 16:30——19:30 (Beijing Time) [14:30——17:30(Urumqi Time)]

October—End of April of Next Year (Winter Timetable)

  In addition to legal festival celebration days and two-day weekend prescribed by the State, the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is entitled to have two local ethnic festival days: Kurban Festival and Fast-breaking Festival. Muslim people have a 3-day holiday for Kurban Festival and a 1-day holiday for Fast-breaking Festival. All employees of  the governments of Xinjiang have a day off on the first day of Kurban Festival. Kindly be aware of these two holidays to avoid inconvenience to you.
