The Rubber Has Met The Road

Sixteen Years and over 6000 people. It has been the most enormous political research effort in history. Now we bring to you the Nation's first Voter's Self-Defense System. We will come to every state and every town and community that wants us. Six of our board members with a stage presentation that will knock your socks off or our Purple Bus complete with a movie theater and computer terminals to train citizens how to defend themselves from the manipulation of both candidates and their parties. Tolerance will no longer be your only option!

See the schedule to find out when we will be near you. If you are interested in helping out, contact our media department at media@votesmart.org.

A Tax-wise Window of Opportunity

Check Out Project Vote Smart's New Blog

Over the past few years, blogs have increasingly shown that they are an effective tool to quickly reach a large group of people who are politically driven, and seeking to make a change in society. With that being said, Project Vote Smart is proud to announce its entry into the political blogosphere, with the introduction of its blog: "The Voter's Speakeasy" . The Voter's Speakeasy will serve as a means of keeping supporters of the Project Vote Smart up-to-date on the programs and services that it provides. Check out the blog, and feel free to leave comments and feedback about the latest activities being undertaken by Project Vote Smart.

Ten Year Test Reveals Impact of Major Parties' Decisions to Stonewall the Public

The Project has just released the results of a ten-year study of every congressional, gubernatorial and state legislative candidate in the country. Results from the National Political Awareness Test, 1996-2006, indicate a dramatic nose dive over the last five election cycles in the willingness of major party candidates to tell voters their positions on the issues they will face if elected. Read the news release and supporting documents with comparative statistics from 1996-2006. Then see how your candidates measured up.
