November twelfth things.

vernon. The game that Microsoft canceled is Sufjan Stevens' episodic adaptation of every Marilyn Monroe film that was going be available weekly on Xbox Live Arcade starting July 4th, 2008. I have been told Stevens will produce his next game, an episodic adaptation of March 1994 episodes of The Oprah Winfrey Show, for the PS3, and says large storage capacity of Blu-Ray and hard drive will not hinder his creativity.
visconti. 2K Boston is working on a PS3 port of the greatest game to ever arise from Boston, Darkened Skye: Game of the Year, is loaded bonus content and Sixaxis support, revolutionary next-gen features and is scored by up-and-coming British pop act Circulus (for those unfamiliar with this hot band, the video for their smash hit "My Body is Made of Sunlight" can be found below). Tasting of virtual rainbows is scheduled for spring.

scott. Legendary prog-rock band Jethro Tull have signed a multi-year agreement with THQ for interactive musical products based on the band, the first, developed by Volition, is an untitled action-packed sandbox WWII fluting title for Wii slated for release in June.
maslin. In attempt to outdo their previous out-of-place selections, Take-Two has announced that Major League Baseball 2K8 will feature a soundtrack entire composed of indie rock in other languages, tracks featured in the game include "Svefn-G-Englar" by Sigur Ros, "Du Ar For Fin For Mig" by Dungen, and "M'emmener au jeu de boule" by Air.
rodgers. Capcom has revealed that the Wii version of Okami will feature Duran Duran's "Hungry Like a Wolf" as the theme song and will feature music from Sea Wolf ("You're a Wolf"), Wolf Parade, Wolf Eyes, Wolfmother, Peanut Butter Wolf, amongst others in order to connect with the modern gamer and ensure the game is successful this time around.
padgham. Also coming to the Wii is DaNcE DaNcE KLAXONS from Konami, which is described as "Dance Dance Revolution meets nu-rave act Klaxons." The game will "feature an adventure story mode in which you are a nineteen year old in 1992 London who has to rise to the top of the rave circuit and maintain fashionability and coolness and 'collect records,'" according to Klaxon Jamie Reynolds. The game will also allow players to download a copy of Klaxons' favorite game, 40 Winks to a Nintendo DS with a Wi-Fi connection. Judging from time from the game, the nonsensical auditory and visual atrocity is the Klaxons and the nonsensical auditory and visual atrocity that is Dance Dance Revolution series are a perfect fit.

Edit: The above are not really happening, internet users I'd recommend brushing up on your skills of detecting poor parody (haha, self-deprecation).

Also, below is the English version of the text found in Hindi in yesterday's post:
Spoiler warning for Resistance II (the ending ruined):
The levels in Resistance II, in order which they occur, are: Iceland (features Mech boss battle), U.S. Shoreline*, U.S. Defenses* (boss battle in which you defend Big Berthas), San Francisco (takes place at a college, boss battle against a lot of Titans), Redwoods* (boss battle against a bunch of stalkers), Logging Camp*, Farmtown U.S.A., Badlands* (boss battle against a bunch of Goliaths), Chicago* (boss battle against a Leviathan), Louisiana and Mexico* (Chimeran fleet cover the Yucatan). The game ends with the portal opening through which the "true chimera" arrive and the last line in the game is "oh, shit..." Asterisks indicate multiplayer maps.

Too bad I don't have the screens I saw from a very early version of the game from back in May, made those screens from an early version of the next PoP look like the Final Fantasy film.

UPDATE: The spoiler has to now be highlighted because of many requests for such. Bonjour encore, Insomniac.

I can't figure out why there are two asterisks in the second starred word of the last item - is it II?

I guess this is in response to the people thinking you post false info. lol. Haters.

Give a spoiler warning. All that is nice, but ruining the end of the game especially without a warning is BS. Couldn't you have done the same thing with a crappy game instead? Shit...

Didn't Darkened Skye suck?

anonymous: No.

I'm assuming it will happen eventually, but do you know anything about Peggle (or other Pop Cap titles) coming to XBLA?

If the theme for Airwolf isn't in the Wii Okami, I don't know how Capcom can expect it to catch on. Just the lose association with Jan-Michael Vincent would be enough to make it bigger then Halo.

who is jan-michael vincent????? and lol @ anything being bigger than halo

Are all these your INSIDEr tips or from emails you received that amused you??

Some of them seem really... too crazy.

Isn't it common for a game to look bad early in production? If they still have to put the art in place, they could be running the engine with solid colors in place of textures. Even on the Crytek engine, that would look like crap.

Surfergirl, you said KHIII will be heading for the Wii. Whos the source; Square Enix or Nintendo?

You also said recently Bioshock wasn't heading for PS3, it was recently confirmed that it was. Do you have anything to say on that matter?

I have a few questions.....

1) Is Nintendo planning on releasing DS remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver?

2) Do you know if Ridley, Olimar, Krystal or Paper Mario are going to be playables in Brawl?

3) Is Bandai planning on remaking or at least releasing a port of the first Digimon World game?

4) Will Insomniac Games ever come back to make a new Spyro game?

2 Questions:

1. How did Nomura react to KH3 on Wii? Seeing as how seems like a big PS3 fan, I'm sure he might've wanted it on the PS3 (possibly). Plus do you have info on how KH3 is working out in development? Is it going smooth? Any info on it?

2. Will Tales of Symphonia: Knight of Ratatosk be released in the US and Europe? The original TOS did extremely well in the US and Europe, so I don't know why this wouldn't come to the US and Europe as well.

Do you know if capcom is going to make any announcements for new mega-man games? (if so what exactly) It's his 20th birthday rather soon!

Thanks for any info!

I hope sg does not mind me answering her ?s, as a professional analyst there are some ?s I can definitely answer.

@anonymous who asked about KHIII: BioShock will not be coming to the PS3, ever. 2K Boston's next title will.

@anonymous after that: Game Freak does not do ports, so that seems highly unlikely prospect. None of those were on the character select screen I saw which was fully unlocked. Digimon is not a franchise with a fanbase that expands, on either side of the Pacific, so it would not make much sense to remake games for a loyal, mostly younger, fanbase who would have most likely already played these games. Insomniac has moved on from the Spyro franchise.

last anonymous: New Mega Man games are coming next year. And sg, there is no Mega Man Wii-exclusive, there is a game coming to the Wii, as well as other platforms.

Surfer Girl, when you say KH3 is being developed now do you mean in general where they are actually WORKING and programming on the game currently OR are they still rambling on ideas on what to do (with the the console in mind which you say is the Wii)?

Anonymous said...

Someone asked about co-op, the answer to which is yes.

surfer girl said...

Kirolos: The latter one.

Thank you anonymous person who claims to be an industry analyst.

Thanks, can't wait!!

Hey surfer girl, the Japanese magazine Dengeki had in their rumors section a couple of months ago that Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII was a Wii title. Do you know anything about this mysterious FFXIII title?

Also, Seiken Densetsu Wii. Do you know anything else about it?
