Greater Peterborough's environmental goods and services sector is a strong growth area which the cluster initiative seeks to support and develop.

The objectives of Encluster are to help identify and exploit business opportunities, to encourage start-ups and to attract inward investment in a number of practical ways. This includes networking activities and demonstration projects, particularly in waste management and processing, energy management, and renewable energy.

Training Grants Available

Training Grants of up to 70% available for environmental organisations in East Anglia

There is significant funding available for environmental organisations based in East Anglia for staff training. If you are an SME with less than 250 employees then you are eligible for a refund of 70% on relevant courses and 50% for larger companies. Funding is only available until the end of the year.

21/09/07 - Are you an environmental company whose ongoing development would benefit from access to a high-calibre graduate, and the support of a dedicated Knowledge Transfer resource? Then a new initiative launched by East of England-based Anglia Ruskin University and Writtle College could be the answer.

KEEP (Knowledge Partners � East of England Project) is a new regionally-funded Knowledge Transfer scheme designed to help businesses in the East of England to move forward by accessing the wealth of knowledge and expertise available in their local universities. For more information, click here .

24/07/07 - Peterborough-based engineering company Peter Brotherhood Ltd has opened a new engineering service centre to repair and refurbish turbine technology. The 500 sq m building in Peterborough has been fully equipped with state-of-the-art light machine centres as well as lifting equipment and assembly areas purposely designed so that work can be carried out quickly and efficiently. 24/07/07 - Selective Finance for Investment in England is a discretionary scheme designed to support businesses intending to make investments in order to grow. The primary objective of this scheme is to drive growth in the East of England's businesses by improving productivity and creating or safeguarding skilled jobs.
