With the help of POP from Alcone Marketing Group, Burger King® restaurants have been transformed into Teletubbyland. The Burger King Corp. partnered with Kraft Foods and The itsy bitsy Entertainment Company, the marketers of Teletubbies in the Americas, to create a restaurant-wide promotion. The Teletubby theme is carried throughout Burger King® restaurants across the nation using signage, trayliners,

bags, a special Teletubbies Burger King® crown, six collectible Teletubbies clip-on bean bag finger puppets and Tubby Custard™ desserts, a Jell-O® pudding snack exclusively provided to Burger King® by Kraft Foods. In addition, each Burger King® Kid's Club Meal will contain a tubby gift that children are encouraged to share with a friend.

Two 24" x 16" die-cut door decals were created to draw in customers from outside the store. One decal features Tinky Winky™ and Po™ while another pictures Laa-Laa™ and Dipsy™. In-store posters advertise the finger puppet toys as well as the Tubby Custard™.

"We are extremely fortunate to have worked out an exclusive deal with Kraft to offer Tubby Custard™ as an exclusive tie-in with this Teletubbies promotion," says Richard Taylor, vice president of marketing services for Burger King Corp. "The product will be a great snack or dessert option for our customers, and it's only available at Burger King."

Tubby Chicken Tenders®, chicken nuggets shaped like Teletubbies, is another menu item being launched in conjunction with this promotion. This new item is also being incorporated into the restaurants' in-store signage adjacent to the menuboard.

"Kids can get a 'kids' cup' that features the four Teletubbies, as well as one of four collectible bags, each featuring a different Teletubby," explains Ben Morris of Burger King Corp. "Each of the bags features fun facts such as 'Teletubbies always wave bye-bye' and 'Teletubbies always say thank you.'" Children can also color the bags.

Trayliners promote the Tubby Custard™ and Tubby Chicken Tenders® on the front, while the back of the liners features a black and white drawing of all four characters and their favorite things. "The trayliners were designed to entertain kids, inviting them to color them in," Morris continues.

The collection of clip-on bean bag plush finger puppets includes the Teletubbies and their friends, Bunny and Noo-noo®. The finger puppets have Velcro™ on their hands so they can hold hands or "give big hugs," and the toys, safe for children of all ages, are the ideal size to be clipped onto backpacks, belt loops and strollers.

The promotion, scheduled to run through June 20, is supported by a 30-second national broadcast advertisement. U.S. and Canadian Burger King® restaurants are participating in the promotion.

"Burger King is wonderful at reaching children and their caregivers," says Kenn Viselman, president, CEO and chairman of the board of The itsy bitsy Entertainment Co. "This Teletubbies promotion includes nutritional information as well as games and Teletubbies clip-on toys."

"This program offers something for everyone — great tasting food, high-quality toys and superior value," says Jim Watkins, Burger King Corp. senior vice president, North American Marketing. "We believe Teletubbies will be extremely successful in our restaurants. They have taken America and the world by storm and are loved by children worldwide."
