Firefighters set up a water tower to douse flames from above, emerging like "icicles" afterward, according to spokesman Jeff Budai. He said this was the first major fire the department has responded to since the weather turned cold.
The roof of the building collapsed at one point, but no one was injured in the fire.
A backhoe was brought in to tear apart the debris so firefighters could penetrate the base of the fire.
The building was heavily damaged, and the fire department continues to investigate the cause of the blaze.
