1918 8th Infantry Regiment (City of Footscray Regiment)
reorganised to perpetuate 8th Battalion AIF, with battalions:
 
  • 1st Battalion, formed from 8th Battalion AIF
  • 2nd Battalion, formed from 70th Infantry
  • 3rd Battalion, formed from 70th Battalion Senior Cadets
  • 4th Battalion
  • 5th Battalion, formed from 65th Infantry
  • 6th Battalion, formed from 65th Battalion Senior Cadets
1921 32nd Battalion
formed by amalgamation of 5/8th Infantry, part of 2/23rd Infantry, and part of 29th (Port Philip) Light Horse Regiment
1927 32nd Battalion (The Footscray Regiment)
1942.09.18 amalgamated with 14th Battalion (The Prahran Regiment), to form 14th/32nd Australian Infantry Battalion AIF, and mobilised for war service
