I know I am supossed to be on a blog hiatus, but I can't help sharing this video of Tom Wolfe talking about style. It's so good.

Sé que se supone que estoy en medio de un parón bloguero, pero no me puedo resistir a compartir éste video de Tom Wolfe hablando de estilo. Es buenísimo.

Hiatus

You might be wondering why I haven't written anything those past days. Well, life gets in your way sometimes. I am afraid I won't be updating the blog but I still don't know for how long, maybe I will never do it again. Thank you to everyone who have read me to this moment. 

A los que leeís de forma habitual éste blog, os ha podido extrañar que no haya escrito nada estos últimos días. Me temo que a veces la vida se interpone en el camino. Voy a seguir sin actualizar, pero aún no sé por cuanto tiempo, quizás para siempre. Gracias a todos los que me habeís leído hasta este momento.

Wendy Bevan

To those who follow fashion magazines, the name of Wendy Bevan may ring a bell. Her work is usually featured at Italian Marie-Claire, Financial Times, Lula or Self Service. Her editorials, always with one foot in the past, are true silent stories wrapped in a magic atmosphere. Though, for this post I prefered to choose her personal pictures, less known but not less good as the others.

A aquellos que siguen las publicaciones de moda, el nombre de Wendy Bevan quizás les suene. Es habitual ver su trabajo en la versión italiana de Marie-Claire, Financial Times, Lula o Self Service. Sus editoriales, siempre con un pie en el pasado, son verdaderas historias mudas envueltas en una atmósfera mágica. Aunque para ésta entrada, he preferido escoger parte de sus fotografías más personales y así mostrar ese lado menos conocido de su portfolio pero igualmente bueno.

Acne, probably the most well-known swedish clothing brand after H&M, collaborates with the designer Husam el Odeh to launch a jewellery collection sold exclusively at thecorner. It consists of five handmade pieces with carved seashells on a base of silver. The result is a combination of clean lines and rawness that will leave broke many of our pockets.

Acne, probablemente la marca de ropa sueca más conocida en el mundo después de H&M, colabora con el diseñador Husam el Odeh para lanzar una colección de joyas que ya está a la venta de forma exclusiva en thecorner.Se compone de cinco modelos realizados en plata con incrustaciones de madreperla. El resultado es una colección de lineas depuradas y un tanto salvajes gracias a las conchas.

My father, the mod.

The other day TCM was screening Quadrophenia. I was watching that scene in which Jimmy walks into the kitchen wearing a pair of wet Levi's and defends himself saying he did it so they shrink to fit. To my surprise, my own father said he used to do the same when he was young. At that point, I remembered the pictured above and I realised he was also a victim of the British Invasion. And then I felt jealous...

El otro día estaba la tele puesta de fondo y echaban Quadrophenia en TCM. Era esa escena en  la que Jimmy entra en la cocina llevando unos Levi's mojados y se defiende, ante las críticas de sus progenitores, diciendo que se hacía para que sentaran mejor. Cual fue mi sorpresa, cuando mi propio padre dijo que él hacía lo mismo por entonces. Ahí recordé esa foto de allá arriba y de me di cuenta que él también había sido víctima de la Invasión Británica.Y entonces sentí envidia...

Paul Smith

I've been liking more and more Paul Smith for some time and the last London fashion week show was no exception. I guess the androgynous trend has something to do with it. I didn't like the nightwear very much, but the daywear was exceptional. Plus, all the looks are pretty easy to imitate so there are no excuses; let's button up our shirts to the top and wear our loafers with pride.

Desde hace algún tiempo Paul Smith me viene gustando más y más y el último desfile de la semana de la moda de Londres no ha sido excepción. Supongo que la tendencia por todo lo masculino es la gran culpable. La parte de noche no fue tan de mi agrado, pero la de día me resultó excepcional. Además son todos looks fácilmente reproducibles así que no hay excusas que valgan; todas a abrocharnos las camisas hasta el último botón y a lucir mocasines con orgullo.
