The Real McCoy
Tileking59 on Fri Dec 07, 2007 05:14 pm
Keep your eye on LeSean McCoy, Pitt's freshman RB. If you have seen him, you know he's the real thing. Congrats to all those making SN's list!!

how could you tell it's a terrible year for notre dame? there isn't a single irish on this list.
Bednarik Award Winner...
RangersTexansFanBlog on Fri Dec 07, 2007 08:33 pm
How is that the Chuck Bednarik Winner for the Top Defensive Player of the Year Dan Conner of Penn State not make it on the first team? Tragedy!
Congratulations for Shady McCoy making it. I really wanted him to come to Penn State. He will be a Heisman finalist the last 3 years, if he stays that long, of his NCAA career.

How can DE George Selvie not be included? He was 1st team on 3 other lists, probably due to being 1 tackle-for-loss away from the single-season record and 2nd in the nation in sacks. He was huge in the win over Auburn and had one incredibly memorable play when he took down the QB before he handed it off to the RB, who stood still looking shocked.

Selvie is the best DE in the nation, and if he isn't, then he is 2nd. Long is not as explosive or dynamic, but admittedly is better on the run, due to the size advantage.

SN made a glaring omission by leaving Selvie out. He had the stats and the importance to be a first-team AA (and was at least a semi-finalist for every position award he was eligible for).
Pat White?Colt Brennan

Hello how can you put Bradford over White or Brennan!!No Way
Felix Jones

He is a Junior, not a sophomore.
Lawrence Jackson
SCHeismanUBlog on Fri Dec 07, 2007 10:54 pm
Little surprised on DE Lawrence Jackson not making it to the first team. Jackson and Ellis will be huges losses next year. Thank God for true-Freshman DE Griffen showing up. The kid's a monster.

This list without Pat White certainly isn't a list of players. When you get it wrong, you really get it wrong!!! Also, McFADden didn't lead the nation in rushing. Didn't help his team win a championship of any kind. Didn't make much of a difference except for a couple of games. I don't care what his potential is in the NFL, this is college football!!!
Why all the hate

Darren is the most exciting player in the country that is not playing on Sundays. Pat White is a very good college QB and may play in the league if he finds a new position. If you are saying that he is one of the 2 best Qb's in the nation then you are sadly mistaken, he probably comes in 5th this year behind Brennan, Daniel, Dixon, and Tebow. Who had the biggest target on his back coming in to this season...Yes, Darren McFadden and he still put up bigger numbers than last year in one less game. Auburn did shut him down, I could make excuses like his broken rib or complete lack of a passing game, but that would only belittle what he did to every other team. You can say FIU or Mississippi State, but I would just ask you to look at his complete stat sheet for those days and say he didn't preform like the best player in the land.
Craig Steltz???
ForeverLSU02 on Sat Dec 08, 2007 02:30 am
How did you not mention Craig Steltz? He was only a finalist for the Thorpe Award...
