Welcome to my guide for all things dark and dangerous that lurk the city of Sanctuary* and I don't just mean its residents! The Thieves' World* novels originally brought together a fine collect of well-known authors and introduced us to more than a few others.

Edited by Robert Lynn Asprin, the first set of Thieves' World books appeared in 1978 and gave us a then-unique anthology of stories - unique by the fact that the authors shared their characters with each other. They hooked me in and I have spent many years since trying to collect everything I could find based on the books, including comics, a roleplaying game system and even a board game. I never did find out if there was a computer game...

Though most of the products listed in this guide are now out-of-print, its well worth haunting your favourite second-hand book shop to pick them up. Otherwise, you could try my Ebay Auction Search. (Just don't bet against me!) - Mic

Fans of this series should watch out for the new Thieves' World anthologies, being edited by Lynn Abbey. So far there are 3 - "Sanctuary", "Turning Points" and "Enemies of Fortune". The first 2 books, "Thieves' World" and "Tales from the Vulgar Unicorn", have also been reissued as a trade-paperback called "First Blood". The reissue contains an updated map and an extra story about Cappen Varra called “The Lady of the Winds”.
