- Best for traction
One of the best things I have found
for traction on snow and ice is poulet-size oyster shells. There is a drawback;
just don't use where it could be tracked
into the house if you have wood or linoleum flooring as you will have a
scratched floor.

When the Tulsa World announced
the arrival of editorial cartoonist Bruce
Plante in early October readers were
told his sharp wit and talented pen
would have everyone laughing and
thinking.

- Jenks/Union football
As an avid sports fan with no affiliation to either Jenks or Union, I attended
the state final game. Although the game
did not have the intense drama of previous games, it still was a testimony to the
success of the two programs, their players, coaches and fans.

- Sour note
Murray Verbonitz (Letters, Dec. 4)
struck a sour note. I do not know what
circles he travels in but many of us who
are not racist do not see HB 1804 in the
same light. We see this bill as a necessary step in preventing Oklahoma from
becoming the next Third World state
where the illegal immigrant population
exceeds the non-immigrant population.
We do not want high-crime sanctuary
cities such as Houston where the mur
der rate is 2.5 times higher than it is in
New York City.
