KL pictorial handbook

Shanti Gunaratnam

TWO childhood friends and one very creative sibling.

What happens when all three decide to combine their talents?
The answer is KL 24/7, a pictorial tribute of the city they were born and bred in. The book captures the essence of Kuala Lumpur 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
Ida M Rahim and Shireen Zainudin wanted to do something for their beloved city, so they came up with this book. Shireen’s brother Rizal Zainuddin took all the pictures.
“It makes a nice souvenir for friends, relatives and tourists,” said Shireen at the launch of the book.
“It took one year to compile and get ready. In doing the book, we realised that some parts of Kuala Lumpur have changed quite a bit while others remain the same.”
Shireen said the book was their way of rediscovering Kuala Lumpur after they had lived abroad for some time. Published by Lollipop Publishing, it will be sold in bookstores in the Klang Valley and Malaysian airports at RM38 each.
KL 24/7 was launched by Datuk Paduka Marina Mahathir. It will be the first in a planned series of pictorial books on facets of Malaysian life as seen by the publishers.
