AUSTIN – Texas junior running back Jamaal Charles confirmed he has sent in paperwork to an NFL advisory committee that attempts to gauge where players might be selected in the 2008 NFL draft.
Charles, who leads the Big 12 in rushing (1,458 yards, 16 touchdowns), said he hasn't yet received the report and added that he wouldn't consider jumping to the NFL unless he got "a good grade." When asked if good grade meant a first-round grade, Charles said yes.
Basketball coach Rick Barnes said sophomore center/forward Matt Hill will have season-ending surgery Friday on his left foot. Hill (6-10, 243), from Lincoln, Neb., averaged 2.2 points, 2.5 rebounds and 11.4 minutes in 23 games last season. He has not played in a game this season.
