I had a pirate gametype idea i was gonna make aswell when i got the game

When you have your Gamertag connected to your bnet account, then when you DL the maps videos ect it will DL right to your Xbox. But you need the game to play it.

Sorry, I guess I don't know. But, if I were to guess, you'd have to download the variant, it would make sense because it would be a waste of memory to download a new map for every variant

you can play on this pirate map without the gamer variant, but the variant and map go together. SO no, you can only download one, but if you download both, then it gives you the full pirate experiance

Not sure if you can acctually pre-download the content to your 360, you obviously need the Halo3 game before you can use it., but it would be neat if you could "pre-cache" a stack of kool Bnet content on your 360 to avoid the rush on Tuesday :)

Yeah, first you need the Halo 3 disc and then it will verify that your gamertag is linked to Bungie.net and then it can proceed with the download. But it wont' download until it can verify you are linked to b.net.

I think you click to download. Then it waits til you log in to XBL w/ Halo 3. After that, it downloads. Very simple. You don't have to have Halo 3 yet. It'll download as soon as you log in w/ it. So go ahead and fire up you 360, it won't be there til Tuesday... or whatever day you get it (27 for me :( )

Wrong you need to go into your file share for bungie.net to be able to recognise your gamertag it says so in podcast otherwise it says queued but it also says slot 1 then you hit download again and it says slot 1 it doesn't keep track thus not queuing up.
