The search feature works fine, it's the people feature that is broken.

Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.

League One Members:

Team Diner, after a short period of complete inactivity and brief encounter with almost being forced to withdraw, is now back and ready for action. We will be available any time after 4:00pm PST (Bungie Time) on weekdays, excluding wednesdays. We'll probably be available on the weekend, but that hasn't been discussed, and I don't know what time that would be.

Just send me or Cavx (or both) a PM if you're available to play during the week.

  • 11.26.2007 7:01 PM PST

A third message has been sent out to all League Three members, save Team DJ64, who has removed themselves from the tourney. Hopefully THESE PMs will actually get through to everyone. Friend requests have been sent out to ALL league 3 members from me. Please add me.

In case, for some unknown reason, you don't get my PM, here it is:
Hello fellow members of League Three of the 7th Column League!

Duardo here. I'm gonna try to keep this short and sweet. I'm sending PMs to ALL League 3 members. Please PM me your schedules (at least for the week) and I'll try to set you and your partner up with other teams.
LEAGUE THREE:

Team ISCARIOT
Nedus - Gendo

Team FLAME SQUIRREL
SwordandScales - Duard0

Team TROW
Ghandi 2 - The Slayer117

Team RAMROD
Mr Mousetrap - Butane123

Team AXIS OF INCOMPETENCE
Zag - atomic weggie

Team SMUSH
SolemnOutlaw - Dirty Hry

Team INDIA
ibalei ven bob - conko bob 43

Unfortunately Teach DJ64 have removed themselves from the tourney. I'll PM ash to see if we'll just have 7 teams, or if he'll let another team join in.

Again, please PM me your schedules (at least for the week). I'll PM you AND post about who plays when.

Any questions, PM me.

-Duardo

Hmm... Seems like there's a hole in League Three... Any room for team Biscuit (Ron Burgundy C4 and Brick TamlandC4-me)?

If no dice, when are sign-ups for the next season? And how's this season doing? I haven't really seen any results yet...

So it's initiation week in my fraternity so I won't be able to play any time this week, but this upcoming weekend (pending my partner's availability) I'll be free.

So let me know.

But, yeah, as for Team INDIA. Very good match, and also good attitude. Look forward to playing with you all again and I hope that the remainder of the teams we play are equally professional.

Cool guys. Sounds like a fun game (which is the whole point behind this). I've not played any games but did the settings and map layouts seem ok? I think if we ever get round to Season 2 I'll switch up the maps a little for variety, any suggestions welcome.

I updated the first post with the current standing. I hope to get a few games in when I switch to "nocturnal mode" so me and pez can play with you guys.

We played on Narrows and Snowbound. We chose them by random, use a die, with 3 being Narrows, and 5 being Snowbound.

Narrows
Fun match, back and forth the whole time. I liked how the maulers weren't on the map, nor the power-ups or radar. It made it much more intense, and extremely fun. I liked how the Rocket and Shotugn had low ammo too. It didn't make the whole match seem like 'you gotta get the power weapons!'

Snowbound
I liked how both sides had the BRs, and human snipers. I was glad the Ghost was gone. This match was intense as well, but it seemed more like a 'Get the sniper and shoot before they do!' Overall though, it was fun. I was glad there was no shotgun.

The one suggestion I have is to make the frag limit 25 like in regular doubles. As you can see from both of the games we played against INDIA, we never even got that close to 50. I think we had 38 in the game on Snowbound. Either increase the time limit for a game to 50, or return it to 25. Either way, that is the only suggestion I have for you. Your maps are stellar. I was so surprised to find the Rocket Launcher only had two warheads, but at the same time I was very pleased!

Edit #1: As Duard0 (my teammate) said, I think the radar-less-ness and the heavy use of BRs is good as well. However, I guess I do agree with his point on the snipers. There should be one in a different location on Snowbound rather than two. With two snipers, the gameplay moves to the outskirts and it pretty much becomes a random grenade trying to hit the sniper, or having to spend a lot of time working the sniper out of that area. It requires good teamwork, yes, but I think it could be more interesting if there were just one sniper, perhaps where the Ghost once was.

I kind of agree with Snowbound, it was something I indentified but later ignored so as to not confuse the player into being unfamiliar with the map. The consensus of "WTF Why's there no weapons in the bases? Why is there a Sniper in the middle?".

The problem is there's not really anything in the middle of the map to fight over. It's almost "too" balanced. There's no incentive to go out, take control, and give yourself the upper hand, it's just as easy to camp at one side of the map with your set of weapons and the other team comes at you with theirs.

I think placing the Sniper by the Shotgun spawn would be a great idea to force player movement into the centre and dictate some player confrontation. I would choose shotgun spawn over ghost spawn because most people automatically think to go to that area upon spawning. Maybe a camo by Ghost spawn would also be nice so that there's some fighting outside.

As for the 50 kill limit, I think it's fine as is. I really enjoy long, tense games. The kill count isn't changing, but the timer may be decreased if you feel 15 minutes is too long? I would rather the score be at 50 so that the score can shift dramatically. The more points you have to obtain, the more chance there is of the better team coming out on top. You're rewarded for playing consistently for the full duration.

I agree completely with this, but when I said a timer change I meant an increase. That way in closely matched games like the one Team INDIA and Team FLAME SQUIRREL had, you will have enough gameplay time to achieve 50 kills.

Oh yeah, forgot to answer the question about the drop-out teams. I'll leave it at 7 until the next season, the top 4 will still be promoted. It would be a little more complicated with League 2, but League 1 and 3 are fine in the event of a team dropping.

i agree i want to win by score not time. INDIA felt pressured into making foolhardy charges at the end. Up until the last two minutes it was a small lead on thheir part, but we didn't have enough time to be careful. So the score difference reflects that. But more than the core difference, the pressure to charge takes out some of the fun. I definetly want a time increase or score decrease.

oh and ash you may want to update the total points too on the OP
