Welcome to the website of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of the Philippines to the United Nations.
The Permanent Mission, located in New York City, represents the Philippines in the United Nations through the six main committees of the General Assembly, where it sat as Vice President of the 61 st Session; the Security Council, where it served as an elected member from 2004-2005; the Economic and Social Council where it is Vice President; and various United Nations bodies and special committees.
As a founding member of the United Nations, the largest and most important international organization, the Philippines is committed to the maintenance and promotion of international peace and security, economic and social development, the promotion of human rights and respect for human dignity.
As an elected member of the Economic and Social Council (2007-2009), the Philippines will remain steadfast in upholding the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations in the field of social and economic development.
As the recognized leader in the promotion of interfaith dialogue and cooperation for peace in the United Nations, the Philippines will continue to pursue efforts toward this end with like-minded member-states.
As a responsible and reliable troop contributing country, the Philippines will continue to commit military and police personnel to support the growing demand worldwide for United Nations peacekeepers.
