Introduction

Another one of Bristol's fine large Victorian suburban parks. The size, fine trees and variety of wildflife make this park one of the city's favourites.

Access

St George Park is open 24 hours. There is a car park in nearby Chalks Road, St George BS5

Art and architecture

Only the original Victorian entrance gates remain from the splendid collection of ornamental structures built for the park during the 19th century.

Community, clubs and associations

Developments

Bristol City Council is currently undertaking initial consultation on preliminary designs for upgrading the A420/A431 bus route to showcase status. This may result in alterations to the area around the main entrance to the park. Visit the Planning website for further information.

Following the successful launch of the Trees for Bristol project in Canford Park last year, Bristol Parks and its partners Trees for Cities and the Forest of Avon  built on that success by holding a community planting day at St George Park when over 70 trees wre planted. The event was supported by HSBC, Trees for Cities' first national corporate sponsor. Click here for more information.
