Canadian John (Darth Maple) Part has won his third darts world championship. Part, from Oshawa, Ont., defeated qualifier Kirk Shepherd 7-2 in the Ladbrokes.com PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace. Part took the game's first four sets before holding off a Shepherd comeback attempt.

Schlierenzauer gets first ski jump win

Gregor Schlierenzauer got his first win of the season Tuesday on the second stop of the prestigious Four Hills ski jumping tournament.

Shewchuk, Mammoth beat Roughnecks

Jamie Shewchuk scored a pair of goals to spark a five-goal outburst and the Colorado Mammoth came from behind to defeat the Calgary Roughnecks 10-9 in the National Lacrosse League season opener Saturday.
