Thank You - Holiday Message

Our Department continues to achieve great success in reducing violent crime and this year we have the lowest number of homicides since 1965. YOUR continued efforts at reducing crime show the dedication and hard work by the vast majority of our Police Officers. Every day you go forth and risk your lives to ensure the safety and well being of the citizens of this great City. The press often fails to report the everyday successes you exhibit and focuses on those few negative incidents that bring discredit to our Department. However, I know and appreciate everyone that supports the goals of our Department. As we welcome Superintendent J.P. Weis in 2008, I realize that without YOUR hard work and dedication, this Department would not experience the successes we have had in 2007. In this time of holiday cheer, I personally want to thank you for your exceptional efforts in making this a safer city, and look forward to working with the finest Police Officers in the world in 2008. I wish you and your families, the most peaceful and joyous of holidays. God bless you and your families. Have a Happy Holiday Season, wishing you all a bright, safe New Year.

Charles L. Williams

Deputy Superintendent

Bureau of Patrol
