Sleep with dogs ...............

Sleep with dogs ............. and maybe you don't wake up at all.

Iran's poison dwarf President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad walks hand in hand with Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit in Doha 12/3/07.

Ahmadinejad_abdullah_hand_holding

Ahmadinejad has been invited to perform the hajj pilgrimage by Saudi King Abdullah, in another first for the Islamic republic's leader, Iran's ambassador to Riyadh has announced.

Double Jeopardy Dan Diker J Post hat tip Carolyn

[...]

But Abdullah's last minute invitation to Ahmadinejad, and his public cozying up to the Iranian at a moment when Iran threatens to replace Saudi Arabia as the new hegemon in the Middle East could be the latest signal of how terrified the Sunni Arab establishment is - and the Gulf states in particular are, of Iran's rising power. It is also seems a graphic indication of Saudi and "Gulfie" nervousness over their perception of America's growing weakness and loss of political will opposite Teheran.

On the face of it, Ahmadinejad's key note address - the first for any Iranian leader to the Sunni Gulf Cooperation Council - that included Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman seems counter intuitive.

Wasn't the GCC created to offset the very threatening Iranian regional influence it now appears the Gulf States are ready to honor? In fact, as the Washington Institute's Simon Henderson points out in a December 7 analysis, the UAE set a precedent in November by impounding an Iranian-bound shipment of undisclosed material banned by UN Security Council Resolutions 1737 and 1747 because of its potential use for nuclear weapons or missile programs. The Washington Institute brief also notes that Bahrain's crown prince for the first time openly accused Iran in a recent interview of seeking nuclear weapons.

And didn't the same Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and other Gulfies send senior officials to Washington's Annapolis conference two weeks ago, to show the Iranians that the US could lead a coalition of Arab Sunni states to Isolate Teheran's Islamo-fascist mullocracy?

So how can what looked like the beginning of a kiss and make up session last week between Iran's Ahmadinejad and Iran's Sunni Gulf rivals be understood?

FOR STARTERS It was little coincidence that the Abdullah-Ahmadinejad photo op took place on the same day and virtually in tandem with the release of the US National Intelligence Estimate.

Arab leaders don't believe that for a minute. Middle East scholar and Council on foreign Relations fellow Max Boot noted in a Wall Street Journal article this week that a senior Arab official warned him during a recent trip to the Gulf that "accepting Ahmadinejad with nuclear weapons is like accepting Hitler in 1933." Broad Arab participation at the Annapolis conference exemplified their heightened fears.

Now, for Arab Sunni Gulf States who are worried about Iran's ascendancy under a nuclear umbrella, the National Intelligence Estimate underscores growing confusion, disunity and discord in Washington.

While former UN ambassador John Bolton blasted the report as "politics masquerading as intelligence," to worried Arab leaders, the apparent lack of US unity and purpose opposite Iran spells weakness and a lack of political will. Some leading Islamic affairs experts inside and outside the Beltway have been issuing this warning for some time.

IRAN, MEANWHILE, continues to charge ahead with its atomic weapons plans while destabilizing the region via proxy terror groups in Iraq, in Lebanon via Hizbullah, via Hamas, and Palestinian Islamic jihad in Gaza, all the while promising to liquidate Israel, the US's key Middle East ally.

So despite palpable Arab fears of Iran - particularly a nuclear one - as Jordan's King Abdullah II first publicly expressed in 2004 when he coined the term "the Shi'ite crescent" - to refer to Iran's arc of control, Professor Bernard Lewis, the world's leading scholar on Islam and the Near East, has long reminded the West that Arab political culture runs with the winning horse.

THIS IS the also the context in which the recent US hosted Annapolis conference should be considered. Instead of pressing for victory against Iran, Bush's summoning much of the international community to Washington to advance Palestinian-Israeli peace and to send a message to Iran was likely perceived somewhat differently in the Middle East.

In the context of Lewis's "winning horse" analogy, Bush in the Arab and Persian mind may have appeared more like the school weakling who needed to turn to the rest of the class to back him opposite the class bully, in this case the 120 pound Ahmadinejad.

So with the US National Intelligence Estimate weakening US diplomatic efforts to mobilize the international community against Teheran, Arab states prefer to mingle with Iranian power rather than risk American uncertainty.

Read it all.

Our friends the Saudis

Tell us again how the Saudis are our partners in the War against Islamic terror;

Saudis Release 1,500 Suspected Extremists

Saudi Arabia has released 1,500 prisoners suspected of belonging to a radical Islamic group after the prisoners underwent what was described as a five-week counseling program, according to Middle Eastern newspapers.

Critics of the prisoner reform program worry it does nothing to seriously combat Islamic radicalism and releases dangerous extremists back into society.

"This is the sort of failure to recognize the threat and deal with it seriously that has characterized the Saudis for years," said former White House counterterrorism chief Richard Clarke, an ABC News consultant.

The released prisoners are described as followers of the rigid Takfir ideology and considered by many U.S. intelligence officials to be prime recruiting material for al Qaeda groups.

According to a Saudi newspaper, the Takfir group calls for establishing an Islamic state, kicking non-Muslims out of the Arabian Peninsula and considers other Muslim leaders, scholars and the general Muslim public disbelievers.

The Saudi newspaper, Al-Watan, publicized the massive prisoner release on Sunday, saying the Saudi Ministry of Interior spearheaded the effort in 2005 by holding 5,000 meetings with about 3,200 suspected Takfir members. The New York Sun first reported the development in the United States.

All over the world ......... we fight

Atlas reader  Sandra in New Zealand has an excellent op-ed piece today in Scoop. Here's an excerpt;

Femi-Nazis & Homo-Nazis Condemned By Silence Sandra

According to Ms. Clark, New Zealand fully respects a judicial system that not only prosecutes but also metes out a sentence of 200 lashes and a prison term ... to a gang rape victim!

Where are the voices of contempt?

If Sue Bradford, The Greens and the Maori Party had an ounce of integrity between them they would be taking this opportunity to circle the globe, shouting "foul" from their anti-smacking magic carpet. Surely the Saudi situation is even more worthy of their time than prosecuting law-abiding NZ citizens?

Where is the voice from Judith Collins? On her web site she stands in her full glory in the middle of a photograph wearing a white ribbon in support of the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. Just another photo opportunity, huh Judith?

Why the silence from women's rights campaigner's? Do they actually exist or have they crawled under a rock because this is not worthy of reproach? One would have to think that they burned their courage and integrity along with their bras. I wonder if it's compulsory to wear a bra under a burqa?

Where is a voice from the gay community? One of the rape victims sentenced to be flogged is a male. The Saudi government wallows in its own hypocrisy in failing to charge any of the perpetrators with the gang rape of the male abductee. Homosexuality in Saudi Arabia is punishable by death. [3]

Shame on you silent apologists, appeasers and yellow-bellied cowards. Shame on you all!

Your silence is your hypocrisy, NOT OURS.

In conclusion, if I can find anything that the Saudi judicial law has remotely got in common with Helen Clark and New Zealand, it would be that in Saudi any criticism of the government is not tolerated. [2]

If you do not support Helen Clark's statement that New Zealand fully respects the Saudi judicial system, visit www.SOLOPassion.com, cast your vote and vent your rage.

Rape victim sentenced to 200 lashes .... "following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad"

Raped_woman_lashing

This story is without equal. Better yet the Saudis are defending the sentencing of the gang rape victim. Above photo is of a woman and sent to Dr. Homa Darabi 20 days after she received 50 lashes in Iran. Now imagine 200 lashes for the crime of being gang raped.

SAUDIS DEFEND SENTENCE OF RAPE VICTIM Telegraph hat tip wolf

Saudi Arabia has condemned Western interference in the case of a rape victim who was sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in prison.

The Saudi Justice Ministry today confirmed that the flogging sentence would be carried out after the 19-year-old admitted to cheating on her husband in violation of Islamic laws.

The case sparked an international outcry after a Saudi court sentenced the girl to 90 lashes and a prison-term because she was in a car with a man who was not a close relative.

When her husband then publicly criticised the judicial system, an appeals court judge increased the sentence to 200 lashes.

Her offence was in meeting a former boyfriend, whom she had asked to return pictures he had of her because she was about to marry another man.

The couple was sitting in a car when a group of seven Sunni men kidnapped them and raped them both, lawyers in the case told Arab News. The former boyfriend was also sentenced to 90 lashes for being with her in private.

A review of the sentence was ordered after condemnation from the international community and human rights groups.

However the Saudi Justice Ministry today maintained that the ruling was legal and followed the "the book of God and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad".

The Justice Ministry's account of the incident differed substantially from that given by the woman and her lawyer.

It largely glossed over her rape, focusing instead on her plan to meet her lover in his car "in a dark place where they stayed for a while".

Rape Victim Lashing

More Barbarism in action: (hat tip Mara)

A court in the ultra-conservative kingdom of Saudi Arabia is punishing a female victim of gang rape with 200 lashes and six months in jail, a newspaper reported on Thursday. The 19-year-old woman -- whose six armed attackers have been sentenced to jail terms -- was initially ordered to undergo 90 lashes for "being in the car of an unrelated male at the time of the rape," the Arab News reported.

But in a new verdict issued after Saudi Arabia's Higher Judicial Council ordered a retrial, the court in the eastern town of Al-Qatif more than doubled the number of lashes to 200....

Mara adds , "Turns out, it's a Sunni/Shi'ite thing.  The woman in question is a Shi'ite, so she's being punished for not adhering to wahhabist law - that she cannot travel in the car with a male non-relative, and also for attempting to get media attention.  And of course the only thing that will happen is that no woman in her right mind will ever be tempted to report a rape again, if this is what she will be made to suffer."

SAUD KING JEERED AS CONTROVERSIAL TRIP BEGINS Times Online hat tip Wolf

King Abdullah II of Saudi Arabia was greeted by jeers and placards as he began his state visit to Britain this afternoon as dozens of demonstrators turned out to protest at his country's human rights record.

About 50 human rights protestors and anti-arms trade activists mingled with the crowds lining The Mall as the monarch accompanied the Queen in a carriage on their way to Buckingham Palace.

King Abdullah’s visit has been shrouded in controversy over oppressive policies against women and gays in the Middle Eastern kingdom and the war on terror.

Protesters, including Peter Tatchell, the gay rights activist, chanted "King Abdullah, torturer, murderer" and held banners marked “Put human rights before BAe profits” and “You can’t do this in Riyadh” as the procession went past.

SAUDI ARABIA LECTURES EU ON HUMAN RIGHTS Brussels Journal

The “Human Rights Commission” of Saudi Arabia, a country where slavery was formally abolished as late as the 1960s and is still practiced more or less openly (it is allowed according to sharia law), now lectures Europeans on Islamophobia. Notice that this is not an isolated incident; it is part of a sustained, ongoing effort with the explicit goal of surrendering half a billion Europeans to Islam.

The Euro-Arab Dialogue, which this is a part of, was established in the 1970s and is rapidly progressing towards the goal of merging Europe with the Arab world. The European Union is thus formally negotiating the surrender of an entire continent, without asking their peoples about it and without even mentioning this in the major media. It is one of the greatest betrayals ever recorded in the history of Western civilization. The EU is quite simply an evil and criminal organization which must be dismantled as soon as humanly possible. I don’t care whether some readers think this is “too harsh.” Europe’s future is being decided now. By the way: I’ve just demonstrated that these so-called “Arab contributions to science” were largely bogus.

Sinister's Saudi's Secrecy

Truth teller Rachel Ehrenfeld exposes the Saudis for what they are, the enemy in the war on the global jihad. Previously cover at Atlas here . The Saudis and their multimillion dollar litigation machine has tried relentlessly to silence Ehrenfeld. No one has done more to expose their terror funding. No one.

SAUDIS SUE FOR SECRECY RACHEL EHRENFELD NY Post hat tip Jan

August 8, 2007 -- THE Saudis' efforts to keep a veil of secrecy over their sup port for al Qaeda and Hamas got a shot in the arm last week, as a British publisher opted to suppress a controversial book on the financing of terror.

Facing the mere threat of a lawsuit from Saudi billionaire Khalid bin Mahfouz, Cambridge University Press agreed to pulp all the unsold copies of "Alms of Jihad: Charity and Terrorism in the Islamic World," issue a public apology to Mahfouz and pay his legal expenses and substantial undisclosed damages.

The prestigious publisher - the world's oldest publishing house - had carefully vetted the book before publishing it last year. Yet now it has asked more than 200 libraries worldwide to pull the work off their shelves.

Bin Mahfouz never sued the authors, J. Millard Burr and Robert O. Collins, both U.S. citizens, who had provided their publisher with all the sources to back their allegations that bin Mahfouz, his family and his former bank, the National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia, funded Hamas and al Qaeda. Yet Cambridge University Press still caved - and even asked the authors to join its apology to bin Mahfouz. (They rightly refused.)

Since March 2002, bin Mahfouz has sued or threatened suit in England at least 36 times against those who've linked him to terrorism, including many American authors and publications. Everyone settled with bin Mahfouz - except me.

He sued me in London in January 2004, shortly after my book "Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed - and How to Stop It" was published in the United States. I refused to acknowledge a British court's jurisdiction over a book published here; the court then ruled in bin Mahfouz's favor by default. It enjoined British publication of "Funding Evil," awarded bin Mahfouz $225,900 in damages and expenses and ordered that I publicly apologize and destroy the book. I still refuse to acknowledge the British Court and its ruling.

The data in both "Alms for Jihad" and "Funding Evil" is all well-documented by the media and the U.S. Congress, courts, Treasury Department and other official statements. Further corroboration comes from French intelligence officials at the General Directorate of External Security (DGSE), as reported in the French daily, Le Monde. For example, the DGSE reported that, in 1998, it knew bin Mahfouz to be an architect of the banking scheme built to benefit Osama bin Laden, and that both U.S. and British intelligence services knew it, too.

On the MARK!

The war on the West is clearly being waged by Islam, but more nefariously by the West itself. And if you have a moment, listen to Steyn on Laura Ingraham here. Download laura_ingrahm_20070801.mp3. Bruce adds, "the Mark Steyn radio broadcast for Ingraham gives numerous examples of "creeping Sharia."

The Jihad takes many forms.

Atlasite Jeff said, "This Sheikh is able to use the British courts to propagate 'legal' jihad against those who "dare" have the audacity and temerity to expose him. American organizations like CAIR, MSA and ISNA are also employing every tactic they can to use the American legal system against Americans who speak out about those who support and perpetrate jihad in this country. Do you ever wonder how much money is raised on American soil that directly and indirectly funds the worldwide jihad (I am not talking about funding jihad, in this case, via our addiction to crude)?" More here

MARK STEYN: THE VANISHING JIHAD EXPOSES OC Regisiter

How will we lose the war against "radical Islam"?

Well, it won't be in a tank battle. Or in the Sunni Triangle or the caves of Bora Bora. It won't be because terrorists fly three jets into the Oval Office, Buckingham Palace and the Basilica of St Peter's on the same Tuesday morning.

The war will be lost incrementally because we are unable to reverse the ongoing radicalization of Muslim populations in South Asia, Indonesia, the Balkans, Western Europe and, yes, North America. And who's behind that radicalization? Who funds the mosques and Islamic centers that in the past 30 years have set up shop on just about every Main Street around the planet?

For the answer, let us turn to a fascinating book called "Alms for Jihad: Charity And Terrorism in the Islamic World," by J. Millard Burr, a former USAID relief coordinator, and the scholar Robert O Collins. Can't find it in your local Barnes & Noble? Never mind, let's go to Amazon. Everything's available there. And sure enough, you'll come through to the "Alms for Jihad" page and find a smattering of approving reviews from respectably torpid publications: "The most comprehensive look at the web of Islamic charities that have financed conflicts all around the world," according to Canada's Globe And Mail, which is like the New York Times but without the jokes.

Unfortunately, if you then try to buy "Alms for Jihad," you discover that the book is "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock." Hang on, it was only published last year. At Amazon, items are either shipped within 24 hours or, if a little more specialized, within four to six weeks, but not many books from 2006 are entirely unavailable with no restock in sight.

Well, let us cross the ocean, thousands of miles from the Amazon warehouse, to the High Court in London. Last week, the Cambridge University Press agreed to recall all unsold copies of "Alms for Jihad" and pulp them. In addition, it has asked hundreds of libraries around the world to remove the volume from their shelves. This highly unusual action was accompanied by a letter to Sheikh Khalid bin Mahfouz, in care of his English lawyers, explaining their reasons:

"Throughout the book there are serious and defamatory allegations about yourself and your family, alleging support for terrorism through your businesses, family and charities, and directly.

"As a result of what we now know, we accept and acknowledge that all of those allegations about you and your family, businesses and charities are entirely and manifestly false."

Who is Sheikh Khalid bin Mahfouz? Well, he's a very wealthy and influential Saudi. Big deal, you say. Is there any other kind? Yes, but even by the standards of very wealthy and influential Saudis, this guy is plugged in: He was the personal banker to the Saudi royal family and head of the National Commercial Bank of Saudi Arabia, until he sold it to the Saudi government. He has a swanky pad in London and an Irish passport and multiple U.S. business connections, including to Thomas Kean, the chairman of the 9/11 Commission.

I'm not saying the 9/11 Commission is a Saudi shell operation, merely making the observation that, whenever you come across a big-shot Saudi, it's considerably less than six degrees of separation between him and the most respectable pillars of the American establishment.

[...]

In October 2001, the Treasury Department named Muwafaq as "an al-Qaida front that receives funding from wealthy Saudi businessmen" and its chairman as a "specially designated global terrorist." As the Treasury concluded, "Saudi businessmen have been transferring millions of dollars to bin Laden through Blessed Relief."

Indeed, this "charity" seems to have no other purpose than to fund jihad. It seeds Islamism wherever it operates. In Chechnya, it helped transform a reasonably conventional nationalist struggle into an outpost of the jihad. In the Balkans, it played a key role in replacing a traditionally moderate Islam with a form of Mitteleuropean Wahhabism. Pick a Muwafaq branch office almost anywhere on the planet and you get an interesting glimpse of the typical Saudi charity worker. The former head of its mission in Zagreb, Croatia, for example, is a guy called Ayadi Chafiq bin Muhammad. Well, he's called that most of the time. But he has at least four aliases and residences in at least three nations (Germany, Austria and Belgium). He was named as a bin Laden financier by the U.S. government and disappeared from the United Kingdom shortly after 9/11.

So why would the Cambridge University Press, one of the most respected publishers on the planet, absolve Khalid bin Mahfouz, his family, his businesses and his charities to a degree that neither (to pluck at random) the U.S., French, Albanian, Swiss and Pakistani governments would be prepared to do?

Because English libel law overwhelmingly favors the plaintiff. And like many other big-shot Saudis, Sheikh Mahfouz has become very adept at using foreign courts to silence American authors – in effect, using distant jurisdictions to nullify the First Amendment. He may be a wronged man, but his use of what the British call "libel chill" is designed not to vindicate his good name but to shut down the discussion, which is why Cambridge University Press made no serious attempt to mount a defense. He's one of the richest men on the planet, and they're an academic publisher with very small profit margins. But, even if you've got a bestseller, your pockets are unlikely to be deep enough: "House Of Saud, House Of Bush" did boffo biz with the anti-Bush crowd in America, but there's no British edition – because Sheikh Mahfouz had indicated he was prepared to spend what it takes to challenge it in court, and Random House decided it wasn't worth it.

Please read it all. And get very disturbed. These are the same Islamazis trying to silence Ehrenfeld. More here.

UPDATE: CSHW wrote in the comments, " truth is not a defense against libel in the UK. Hence, the thing to do may be for authors to avoid UK publishers and publish in the USA first. This is because a book found libelous when its first publication is in the UK is considered libelous here, however when first published in the USA and found not libelous, it can be published in the USA even if a UK court later finds it libelous. Now go ask an intellectual property lawyer on this one. Apparently, this nonreciprocity is in some trade agreement. chsw (not a lawyer)"

I hate to inform you Tommy but it aint' that easy. Phyllis Chesler reminds us;

The Fly in the Bin Mahfouz Ointment By Alyssa A. Lappen

U.K. libel laws and courts have been among Saudi Arabia’s most successful tools to veil its Islamic proselytization and terrorist funding. The Saudi operator is billionaire Khalid Bin Mahfouz, who has sued or threatened to sue some 36 U.S. and U.K. publishers and authors and was given default judgments in all of them.

But there is a new fly in bin Mahfouz’ Saudi ointment—an U.S. legal precedent established by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals on June 8, 2007. In 2003, U.S. investigative reporter and director of the American Center for Democracy, Dr. Rachel Ehrenfeld, published Funding Evil: How Terrorism is Financed--and How to Stop It.

Among other things, Funding Evil reported bin Mahfouz’ well-documented terror funding. As always after such reports, bin Mahfouz sued Ehrenfeld for libel in Britain. In the High Court, bin Mahfouz’ attorneys informed Justice David Eady that former CIA director R. James Woolsey had written the foreword for Funding Evil. “Say no more,” declared Eady. “I award you a judgment by default, and if you want, an injunction, too.”

[Dhimmi -] Justice Eady then ordered Ehrenfeld to apologize, retract, pay bin Mahfouz $225,913.37 in damages and destroy copies of her book.

A fearless U.S. citizen, published in the U.S., Ehrenfeld ignored the British default judgement. Rather than respond to false claims of libel, never tried on their merits, Ehrenfeld applied to the Southern District Court of New York to rule the U.K. court judgment unenforceable in the U.S.

Former UN ambassador: Al-Qaeda has penetrated Saudi military; scenario of attack must be considered

An impending 20 billion dollar American arms deal with Saudi Arabia, in which the Saudis would receive state-of-the-art military equipment over the next decade, is fraught with potential dangers for Israel, former Israeli ambassador to the UN Dore Gold told Ynetnews on Tuesday.

Gold is President of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA), and is author of 'Hatred's Kingdom: How Saudi Arabia supports the New Global Terrorism.'

Speaking by phone from his home in Jerusalem, Gold said the new arms deal failed to take into consideration a number of problematic scenarios. "There are a broad set of very possible scenarios that Israel certainly has to take into consideration. Aid

Several years ago, Israel received reports of the interrogation of al-Qaeda captives who admitted that their organization had penetrated the Saudi Arabian air force, and that it was planning to take control of several Saudi F-15s based at Tabuk in north Western Saudi Arabia, near Eilat, and fly the fighter planes into sky scrapers in Tel Aviv," Gold said.

War On Terror: Washington is brokering an arms deal for Saudi Arabia while shipping prized F-16s to Pakistan. Are we getting anything from these "allies" other than empty promises — and possibly betrayal?

First the Saudis. At the behest of King Abdullah, the administration is preparing to ask Congress to OK an arms sale package totaling some $20 billion over the next decade. Yet it was Abdullah who just four months ago criticized the U.S. military presence in Iraq as "illegitimate," shocking officials who assumed he was cooperating in our efforts there.

The Baker report on Iraq found that "funding for the Sunni insurgency comes from private individuals within Saudi Arabia." And 61% of the suicide bombers in Iraq reportedly are Saudi nationals.

U.S. Arming the Wahhabis to the Teeth

Losing the West's qualitative edge, by our own hand. Supplying the arms in which to kill us. That is, in effect, the end result. Your taxpayer dollars supplying the means to annihilate you. Israel is just the appetizer.

U.S. to sell advanced weapons to Saudi Arabia and others McClatchy Newspapers

The Bush administration has decided to supply billions of dollars in advanced new weapons to Saudi Arabia , other Arab allies of the United States and to other Arab allies of the United States and to Israel , senior State Department officials and congressional aides said Friday

The arms and aid package, which the officials said is to be announced on Monday, is part of a U.S. initiative to reassure worried allies in the Middle East that despite its troubles in Iraq , the United States remains committed to the region. It also is meant to send a signal of resolve to Iran's increasingly confident leaders.

Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates leave for the Middle East on Monday on a rare joint mission to deliver those messages in person to the region's leaders.

Rice delivering us on a arms-plated platter. Ugh.

The officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the package has not yet been announced, said it would include selling Saudi Arabia advanced weapons known as Joint Direct Attack Munitions, or JDAMs. JDAMs convert simple gravity bombs into accurate "smart" weapons.

Israel protested the proposed sale when word of it first leaked in April.

The package also will include new weapons for the United Arab Emirates , another U.S. ally in the Persian Gulf, and both military and economic support to Egypt . [No port deal but plenty of arms- makes sense - Atlas] Other details of the proposed arms sales weren't immediately available Friday.

Dr. History added, " While the US might sell Israel F-22s, it has announced it plans to double the size of the Saudi and UAE airforces, selling everything to them –even perhaps F-22s. The Saudi airforce will thus be on par with Israel – or better. Additionally with 250 Su-30s from Russia to Iran – if as is usually the case (based on previous history) the Arabs and Iranians will COMBINE forces against the “Zionist entity” Israel will be OVERWHELMED! End of story."

Saudis Jail Christian for Entering Mecca

Our wahhabi loving friends teach us Islam's definition of tolerance. Religion of peace. Allah snackbar!

Saudis Arrest Christian for Entering Mecca Michael Freund, Jerusalem Post

Saudi officials have arrested a man in Mecca for being a Christian, saying that the city, which Muslims consider to be holy, is off-limits to non-Muslims.

Nirosh Kamanda, a Sri Lankan Christian, was detained by the Saudi Expatriates Monitoring Committee last week after he started to sell goods outside Mecca's Great Mosque.

After running his fingerprints through a new security system, Saudi police discovered that he was a Christian who had arrived in the country six months earlier to take a job as a truck driver in the city of Dammam. Kamanda had subsequently left his place of work and moved to Mecca.

"The Grand Mosque and the holy city are forbidden to non-Muslims," Col. Suhail Matrafi, head of the department of Expatriates Affairs in Mecca, told the Saudi daily Arab News. "The new fingerprints system is very helpful and will help us a lot to discover the identity of a lot of criminals," he said.

Criminals?

Similar restrictions apply to the Saudi city of Medina. In a section entitled, "Traveler's Information," the Web site of the Saudi Embassy in Washington states that, "Mecca and Medina hold special religious significance and only persons of the Islamic faith are allowed entry."

Highway signs at the entrance to Mecca also direct non-Muslims away from the city's environs.

Saudi Bust: 9/11 Style "Advanced State"

Saudi Arabia , home to Wahhabism, cracks major terror plot.

172 Militants Planning Attack on Oil Fields Arrested in Saudi Arabia
FOX NEWS

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia   —  Police have arrested 172 militants who were plotting to attack Saudi Arabia's oil fields, storm its prisons to free the inmates and use aircraft in their attacks, the Interior Ministry said in a statement Friday.

The militants planned to carry out suicide attacks against "public figures, oil facilities,Saudi_cash refineries ... and military zones." The statement said some of the military targets were outside the kingdom, but it did not elaborate.

Some of the militants were being trained to fly aircraft in their attacks, the statement added, raising the spectre of more attacks like Sept. 11, 2001 in which Al Qaeda terrorists hijacked passenger planes and flew them into buildings in New York and Washington.

These militants had been "sent to other countries to study flying in preparation for using them to carry out terrorist attacks inside the kingdom," the statement said.

The Saudi state TV channel Al-Ekhbariah broadcast footage of a large quantity of weapons discovered buried in the desert. The arms included AK-47 rifles and other rifles, brickettes of plastic explosives, AK-47 magazines, handguns and rifles wrapped in plastic sheeting.

Damascus Hosts Arab 'Boycott of Israel' Conference J Post

Iraq, Saudi Arabia Among 14 Nations in Attendance

By Michael Freund

Representatives of 14 Arab states convened in Damascus this week for a four-day gathering aimed at strengthening the economic and trade boycott of Israel.

The event, which began on Monday, is being held under the auspices of the Arab League and brings together regional liaison officers from participating Arab countries. It marks the fourth time the boycott officers have met in the past 18 months.

Ostensible US allies such as Iraq and Saudi Arabia are among the countries taking part. This is likely to evoke irritation in Washington, as US officials have been pressing Baghdad and Riyadh to end their enforcement of the embargo, which bars trade with Israel or dealing in Israeli-made goods.

As The Jerusalem Post revealed last week, the Saudis continue to implement the boycott of Israel in violation of a pledge made to the Bush Administration in November 2005.

On the basis of that pledge, Washington agreed to the desert kingdom's request to accede to the World Trade Organization.

According to reports in the Syrian press, the participants at this week's conference are planning to add an undisclosed number of foreign firms to the blacklist they maintain of companies that do business with Israel.

Presiding over the meeting is Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League Muhammad Soboh, who

Saudi Continue Illicit Israel Boycott

Despite our best efforts the Saudi Philistines continue to boycott Israel. It reminds me of the quote  Pope Benedict  cited by Byzantine ruler Manuel II Paleologus that set off the papal jihad, ‘Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.’  I say what have Saudis wrought that wasn't evil and inhuman. And now they, like the poison dwarf,  want nukes. Two years ago, the leaders of Saudi Arabia told international atomic regulators that they could foresee no need for the kingdom to develop nuclear power. Today, they are scrambling to hire atomic contractors, buy nuclear hardware and build support for a regional system of reactors. More here.

Saudis continue to boycott Israel

Despite a promise made to Washington nearly 18 months ago to drop its trade embargo against Israel, Saudi Arabia continues to enforce the Arab League boycott, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

In November 2005, Riyadh pledged to abandon the boycott after Washington conditioned Saudi Arabia's entry into the World Trade Organization (WTO) on such a move. A month later, on December 11, Saudi Arabia was granted WTO membership.

The WTO, which aims to promote free trade, prohibits members from engaging in discriminatory practices such as boycotts or embargoes.

Nonetheless, the Post has found, Saudi officials continue to bar entry to products manufactured in Israel or to foreign-made goods containing Israeli components.

Lord of the Flies warns: "Lords of War"

Photo: UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, center, shares a Jewish Joke with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, left, and Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh after the opening session of the "Kill the Jews" conference in Sand City. hat tip Michael

Axis_evil_hamassaudifat

The Arab Peace Initiative got off to a bad start when Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal warned Israel that its rejection of the plan would leave its fate in the hands of the "lords of war." Rather than obtaining some flexibility, Israel was handed an ultimatum.

This was not the style of either President Anwar Sadat or King Hussein, but rather a grossly mismanaged way of launching any modus vivendi with Israel.

Moreover, if Israel thought Rice's optimistic diplomacy earlier in the week was based on some well-established US-Saudi coordination, it came as a total surprise when Jim Hoagland disclosed in The Washington Post yesterday that Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah canceled a mid-April gala dinner with President George W. Bush in the White House. More from Dore Gold here

Caroline Glick excoriates dhimmwitted Condi's embrace of jihadist 'peace'

Since Friday, Rice has shuttled between Egypt, Israel, the Palestinian Authority and Jordan, and is on her way to Saudi Arabia. She is not working to coordinate moves to check Iran's increasing bellicosity. Rather, Rice is laboring to empower Teheran's terrorist allies in Hamas, the Islamic Jihad and Fatah. This she does by promoting the so-called Arab peace plan, which demands that Israel agree to dangerous and strategically catastrophic concessions to the Palestinian terrorist government.

In behaving thus, Rice is walking in the well-worn footsteps of her predecessors. Indeed, it seems almost axiomatic that when the going gets tough for US administrations, administration officials get tough on Israel.

Today, Rice's newfound mania for peacemaking comes when local conditions negate any possibility of peace. Just last month the Saudis promised the Palestinians a billion dollars and so paved the way for the Mecca accord, where the Iranian-sponsored Fatah terror group surrendered to the Iranian-sponsored Hamas terror group. In so acting, the Saudis brought about the formation of a Palestinian government openly committed to the use of terrorism as a tool to ensure Israel's destruction.

International conditions also ensure that Rice's peacemaking will fail to make peace. Regionally, Iran ups the ante daily against the US-led coalition in Iraq. Domestically, the Democratic-controlled Congress works daily to prevent the US from fighting its enemies. Globally, states as far-flung as Russia, China and Venezuela make deals with terror governments to check US power.

The program that Rice has come to the region to advance does not even have the benefit of a peaceful facade. The Palestinians make clear every single day that they do not and will not accept Israel's right to exist in any borders, and that they will not work to combat terrorism against Israel. The Arab League, and its member states, for their part, have repeatedly announced that they will brook no change in their "peace" plan which, if implemented will bring about Israel's rapid destruction.

In behaving as she does, Rice, like Clinton before her, is aided by a politically weak and strategically incompetent Israeli government that is willing to sacrifice Israel's long-term security for the benefit of prime-time photo opportunities with bigwig American leaders and Arab potentates.

Saudi Gang Rape Vicitm gets 90 Lashes

Saudi gang-rape victim faces 90 lashes (AFP)

A Saudi woman who was kidnapped at knifepoint, gang-raped and then beaten by her brother has been sentenced to 90 lashes -- for a meeting a man who was not a relative, a newspaper reported on Monday. In an interview with the Saudi Gazette, the 19-year-old said she was blackmailed a year ago into meeting a man who threatened to tell her family they were having a relationship outside wedlock, which is illegal in the ultra-conservative desert kingdom. After driving off together from a shopping mall near her home, the woman and the man were stopped and abducted by a gang of men wielding kitchen knives who took them to a farm where she was raped 14 times by her captors. Five men were arrested for the rape and given jail terms ranging from 10 months to five years by a panel of judges in the eastern city of Qatif , near the woman’s hometown. But the judges also decided to sentence the woman, identified by the newspaper only as ‘G,’ and the man to lashes for being alone together in the car. Unrelated men and women are forbidden from interacting in public in Saudi Arabia , which strictly enforces Islamic Sharia law.

ISLAM: DUTCH MP REFUSES TO APOLOGISE TO SAUDIS FOR KORAN COMMENTS

Riyadh 19 Feb. (AKI) - Right wing anti-immigration Dutch MP Geert Wilders has signalled he has no intention of apologising to Saudi Arabia over recent remarks he made criticising the Koran. Saudi Arabian newspaper al-Watan reported the Saudi embassy in The Hague had demanded that Wilders recant and apologise for his comments last week that Muslims should "tear out half the Koran" if they wanted to live in the Netherlands, and that the Muslim holy book "contains plenty of terrible things."

The Dutch news agency ANP quoted Wilders as saying he would not retract hisWilders_hirsi_ali remarks. "I would not dream of taking any of it back," said Wilders.

Saudi Gives 50 Million to CAIR

Holy shia! Everybody is coming out of the closet.  Because there is no judgement, there is no punishment, there are no repercussions for sidling up to the forces of darkness.

Saudi Prince, home of Wahabbism and 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers, is showing CAIR dah love. hat tip FDD.

50 million big ones. One can only imagine how CAIR is going to spend that money.  How many Democrats will that buy?

SHOWING HE CAIRS: Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal -- a donor to the Carter Center -- announced he was giving $50 million to CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

You'll recall that Rudy Giuliani, as New York's mayor, turned down a $10 million check from the Prince just after 9/11/01, understanding all too well his ulterior moves.

CAIR's links to international radical groups have been well-documented as Youssef Ibrahim points out in this article.

Years ago Youssef and I worked together in the Washington bureau of The New York Times. Succinctly summing up what has gone wrong on America's campuses in regard to Middle East studies, he writes:

Remember Orientalism, that landmark book by the late Columbia University professor Edward Said? The 1978 work put the fear of God into any Western scholar who dared to discuss Islam, Muslims, or Arabs in anything less than superlatives -- and it has succeeded beyond Said's wildest dreams.

In a prescient new book, Dangerous Knowledge: Orientalism and Its Discontents, author Robert Irwin notes that "because of the possible offense to Muslim susceptibilities, Western scholars who specialize in the early history of Islam have to be extremely careful what they say, and some of them have developed subtle forms of double-speak when discussing contentious matters."

What goes for academia has been happening in a more dramatic fashion in the press, literature, and the creative arts, where death threats, death sentences, and actual murders of writers, artists, and intellectuals have taken a toll.

Bottom line: You can't talk about Islam, not really. Those transgressing are hounded like hunted animals...Islamic history is served up airbrushed in academia, and the result is a public denied knowledge...

The West is engaged in a major confrontation with Islamic terror, in which much of the Islamists' ammunition is coming from the charities, schools, teachings, and treasuries of Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf. There is no need to hold America's door open to them

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia - A Saudi Arabian judge sentenced 20 foreigners to receive lashes and spend several months in prison after convicting them of attending a party where alcohol was served and men and women danced, a newspaper reported Sunday.

The defendants were among 433 foreigners, including some 240 women, arrested by the kingdom's religious police for attending the party in Jiddah, the state-guided newspaper Okaz said. It did not identify the foreigners, give their nationalities or say when the party took place.

Judge Saud al-Boushi sentenced the 20 to prison terms of three to four months and ordered them to receive an unspecified number of lashes, the newspaper said. They have the right to appeal, it added.

Carter on Bin Laden's Payroll

Jimmuh Jew hater Carter has more skeletons in his nasty closet. Inaccuracies, plagiarism, mass resignations and house Jews do his bidding.

Carter Funded by Bin Laden Family IRIS

Here is an interesting look at the Arab funding of Jimmy Carter. The bin Laden family has been frequently reported as having disowned Osama, but this is not believable. Interestingly, Michael Moore charged that Bush was in league with the bin Laden family.

Did Jimmy Carter do it for the money? That's the question making the rounds about Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid, an anti-Israeli screed recently written by the ex-president whose Carter Center has accepted millions in Arab funding....

In recent weeks, a number of articles have noted that Carter's anti-Israeli views coincide with those of some of the center's prime financial backers, including the government of Saudi Arabia and the foundation of Saudi prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, whose offer of $10 million to New York City just after Sept. 11 was rejected by then-mayor Rudy Giuliani because it came wrapped in the suggestion that America rethink its support of Israel. Other big donors listed in the Carter Center's annual reports include the Sultanate of Oman and the sultan himself; the government of the United Arab Emirates; and a brother of Osama bin Laden, Bakr BinLadin, 'for the Saudi BinLadin Group.'

Speech scrapped over ban on women The Australian

SPAIN'S justice minister refused to deliver a lecture at a university in Saudi Arabia today after authorities banned visiting female journalists from attending.

Saudis to Ban Letter "X"

And these are our allies on the WoT? We are so fucked. Youssef Ibrahim lays it out in today's New York Sun;

Will Saudis Ban the Letter ‘X’?

The letter “X” soon may be banned in Saudi Arabia because it resembles the mother of all banned religious symbols in the oil kingdom: the cross.

The new development came with the issuing of another mindbending fatwa, or religious edict, by the infamous Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice — the group of senior Islamic clergy that reigns supreme on all legal, civil, and governance matters in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The commission’s damning of the letter “X” came in response to a Ministry of Trade query about whether it should grant trademark protection to a Saudi businessman for a new service carrying the English name “Explorer.”

“No! Nein! Nyet!” was the commission’s categorical answer.

Why?

Well, never mind that none of the so-called scholars manning the upper ranks of the religious outfit can speak or read a word of English. But their experts who examined the English word “explorer” were struck by how suspicious that “X” appeared. In a kingdom where Friday preachers routinely refer to Christians as pigs and infidel crusaders, even a twisted cross ranks as an abomination.

[...]

Among the commission’s deeds is the famed 1974 fatwa — issued by its blind leader at the time, Sheik Abdul Aziz Ben Baz — which declared that the Earth was flat and immobile. In a book issued by the Islamic University of Medina, the sheik argued: “If the earth is rotating, as they claim, the countries, the mountains, the trees, the rivers, and the oceans will have no bottom.” Another bright light of the commission, Sheik Abdel-Aziz al-Sheikh, recently stopped a government reform proposal aimed at creating work for women by allowing them to replace male sales clerks in women’s clothing stores. Sheik al-Sheikh damned the idea, saying it was a step “towards immorality and hellfire.” The underlying logic is breathtaking: Women are more protected by buying their knickers from men! Over the years, the commission has rendered Saudi Arabia a true kingdom of darkness. Movie theaters are banned, as are sculptures, paintings, and music, and the mixing of sexes in public.

The commission really has it in for women. They must don the allenveloping veil, or niqab, in public; they cannot drive themselves nor ride anywhere without a male guardian, and they cannot travel alone domestically or abroad.

[...]

One of the most criminal travesties committed by the commission’s foot soldiers, the Mutawaeen, or religious police, was dramatically reported by the muzzled Saudi press itself on Friday, March 15, 2002, when the Mutawaeen forcibly prevented girls fleeing a burning school from leaving the building because they were “improperly dressed.”

The day after, the Saudi Gazette newspaper quoted witnesses as saying the police stopped men who tried to help the girls, warning the men: “It is sinful to approach them.”

Of the 800 teenage pupils in Mecca, 15 burned to death and more than 50 were injured. Yet, the commission and its royal enablers thrive.

You gotta read it all. These are the moderates?

INTERNET JIHAD

We had to see this one coming.

New Website Incites Electronic Jihad Internet Jihad
Update from Global Terrorism Analysis:

The latest criticism of Islam being a violent religion, which was sparked by incendiary comments made by Pope Benedict XVI, has caused internet jihadis to launch a new website called Electronic Jihad, located at http://www.al-jinan.org. The purpose of the website is to help organize an electronic jihad against websites that insult Islam and Islamic sacred figures. The site has been well publicized on more established jihadi websites. Jihadi forums are posting quotes from the Quran in order to encourage and convince jihadis and regular Muslims of their duty to engage in electronic jihad and to attack anti-Islamic sites in order to shut them down. Furthermore, postings from August on the Electronic Jihad site already claim that they successfully shut down the Israeli website http://www.haganah.co.il. Thus, it seems that while street protests in response to Western criticism of Islam have died down in the Islamic world, the battle is still raging on the internet.

The way that the Electronic Jihad site works is by coordinating and organizing its users and followers. The website offers programs that those willing to engage in the electronic jihad need to download. Currently, there are two main programs that the website is offering. The first program is used for hacking attacks. The second program, when installed, places a toolbar on the user's computer that connects automatically to Electronic Jihad and acquires data containing the specific date, time and target site for the attack. When that time arrives, the user simply has to run the first hacking program, select the target site to be attacked and then allow the program to do the rest. The key to these attacks is that they must be done simultaneously by many different users so that they can overload the target site. The hacking program is called the Electronic Jihad Program 1.5 (Silver Edition). One individual in palestinianforum.net claims that the program was designed by a Saudi national.

The website also lists the results of previous electronic attacks, noting that it had hacked 14 anti-Islamic websites successfully, although it did not provide the addresses for these websites. The site also claims that one server hosting an anti-Islamic site acquiesced to their threats and suspended the site. The site owners remind Muslims of the harm done by anti-Islamic groups that have hacked into Islamic sites and turned many of them into pornographic websites. To convince indifferent Muslims of the importance of electronic jihad, the site has a link to a report on the al-Jazeera Forums site mentioning Electronic Jihad's achievements in shutting down anti-Islamic websites, al-Jazeera talk here. The al-Jazeera report, however, does not identify the attackers as "jihadis," but rather as hackers and pirates.

ATLAS EXCLUSIVE: NIDRA POLLER
BEWARE SAUDI DRS WITH FRENCH DEGREES

The extraordinary truthteller in France, Nidra Poller, gifts Atlas readers with this ghastly exclusive. Yet another French example of its continuing descent into dhimmitude.

BAKED ON THE PREMISES --  Beware of Saudi doctors…with French degrees…
New York City 3 October French_bakery_6
Nidra Poller

Beware of Saudi doctors who earn their MDs in France these days…they just might be graduates of a special new program that would make a stethoscope choke.  Might?  They definitely will, unless medical school faculty and administrators are able to hold out against some heavy pressure.
Reports are coming in from French medical schools of a plan to admit a cohort of Saudi students by hook and crook, bypassing the stiff entrance exams and very restrictive numerus clausus. Groups of five Saudi students will be admitted under exceptional conditions to eleven medical schools, leaving an equivalent number of qualified French candidates out in the cold.

The plan is so bald faced it’s hard to believe anyone would dare suggest such things, but it’s been presented as a fait accompli. Saudi candidates will take the entrance exam in the comfort of their embassy. Who will supervise? Who knows? The questions are to be delivered to the embassy…maybe they’ll send a chauffeur to pick them up…and the papers will be returned to appropriate academic personnel for grading.  A normal French candidate who scores 10 on a scale of 20 wouldn’t even be accepted for training as a midwife. But your future Saudi oncologist or brain surgeon can, will, must be admitted even if he couldn’t score above 10 with prompting by the ambassador’s personal physician and some dhimmi doctors they’ve hired to upgrade the kid. The slow learner will be allowed to audit the full medical program, but won’t get an M.D. Or so they say. Once these guys get a foot into the med school of their dreams, who will have the guts to deprive them of the beautiful shining diploma every oil-rich son of the Saudis deserves?

The oil-rich will pay the same incredibly low 100 euros per year tuition as the sons of French peasants.  But the Saudi government will kick in a supplement…to pay for tutors that should bring their richly potential med students up to par.

Candidates from common ordinary foreign countries, including those who have already earned MDs at home, have to fight their way through tough entrance exams and squeeze into a cramped numerus clausus; the Saudis will fly over their heads and land softly.
French students might hope and dream to get into one of the most prestigious medical schools in the country but they can’t pick and choose; local kids have priority and there are never any extra places to be had.  But the 55 Saudis are slated for topnotch schools without changing their home address.

Let’s summarize: the chosen 55 will bypass the normal entry exam, the strict numerus clausus, the tough conditions for foreign candidates, the normal cutoff points and, in addition, these privileges will follow them all the way to home base--that still-prestigious French MD. They cannot falter neither can they fail.

Allowed to enter med school without scrutiny from the commission that normally judges candidates, they will presumably advance from year to year without confronting the pass or fail challenge that faces ordinary mortals.

The initial reaction from faculty, administration, and student reps is, understandably, indignant! And, in some cases, they have expressed outright refusal of a proposition that violates ethical, pedagogical, and legal standards and compromises the independence of the university.
It will be interesting to see how much that independence weighs against the dependence of their government on Saudi benevolence.  As it will be interesting to find out what other branches of higher learning are receiving a comparable input of hand-picked Saudi students.  This kind of onslaught couldn’t be happening on a small scale.  International relations just don’t work that way.

To be continued…

Bringing the Jihad To a town Near You

America, this is your wake-up call.

Saudi Wahhabists Promoting Islamic Extremism Through Villanova Jihad Camps

The heavy hand of the Saudi Kingdom is being felt in Villanova, Pennsylvania.

When Villanova's Foundation for Islamic Education [FIE] requested an expansion permit from the Lower Merion Council they were met with protests from concerned residents who were fed up with the group's flaunting of its zoning agreement.

As we noted in a July 10 piece - Residents Protest Expansion Of Islamic Center In Villanova, PA - Venue For Young Muslim "Jihad Camps" - "Residents of Lower Merion County protesting the expansion of the Foundation for Islamic Education because of zoning violations, recently became aware that the center is planning to hold a Muslim Youth camp with many of the controversial speakers who appeared at a self-described "Jihad Camp" in 2001.

The FIE is funded and owned by the ex-Saudi Minister of Energy and Electricity - Abdullah Taiba and is a satellite campus of the American Open University the American division of al-Azhar University in Cairo, a hotbed of Muslim Brotherhood activity.

A hearing on the expansion permit is scheduled to take place on August 10. Even prior to the news about the camp, Lower Merion councilman Philip Rosenzweig conceded that "it would take time for the FIE to reestablish trust with the neighbors," according to a July 5th article Philadelphia Inquirer..."(hat tip daryl)

Islamic Police Coming to a Town Near You

This just in from the Khaleej Times. Muslims are forming a posse to roam the world and make sure you are treating  Muslims right. Yeah, Sudan, one of the world's leading murderers of their own people, Iran, who put a torturer murderer on the UN Human Rights Council  -- is the world's worst violator of human rights and the largest state sponsor of terrorism, Saudi Arabia, Wahhabi capital of the world and another limitless ATM for terror organizations --are going to teach the West about humane treatment of our citizens-- you can't make this stuff up;

Saudi Arabia, Iran and Sudan have urged that the rights of Muslims should be safeguarded. In a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s Turki Al Sudairy, Iranian Justice Minister Jamal Karimi-Rad, said that both Iran and Saudi Arabia have a decisive role in the world of Islam, and added that their cooperation and coordination in all affairs contributed to the progress of Muslim countries.

Human rights of Muslims should be safeguarded’

Turning to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's initiative on the human rights dialogues offered to the world, he said that according to his proposal, some delegations should be dispatched to world countries, including the Western countries and the United States, to investigate various sides of the issue and urged the need for mutual inspections. "Based on Ahmadinejad's suggested scheme, to promote human rights the grounds should be prepared for exchange of views on human rights principles," he added.

For his part, the Sudanese minister called for expansion of multifaceted mutual ties and addressing his Iranian counterpart, said, "Given your high morale, you are a successful country.”

US $100 Million to Pali Arabs

No price too high, no number too great if it translates to Jew Killing. Money for murder, chicks for Martyrs.

US$100 million transferred to Abbas
The Arab League and Saudi Arabia have transferred some US$ 100 million (euro 78 million) to the Palestinians, the first funding since international aid was cut off after Hamas militant won legislative elections, a top Palestinian official and the Arab League said Tuesday.

You can always count on the Saudis, in league with the Arab butchers.

U.S. Visas to Saudis Double: Stupidly Dangerous

What could we be thinking? Or is thinking not PC? Considering that profiling is out of the question, why? How many 9/11 hijackers were Saudis? Who underwrites Wahhabism worldwide? Who is building Islamic fundamentalist school nationwide in America.

Christians Still "Swine" and Jews "Apes" in Saudi Schools -which, btw, is straight out of the Koran.

While 60% of Hamas’s annual budget came from Saudi Arabia. Saudi Clerics fete Hamas Delegation.

Number of US Visas to Saudis Doubles
By Michael Freund

For the first time since the September 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, the US State Department has begun to sharply increase the number of entry visas granted to Saudi Arabian nationals seeking to visit the United States, The Jerusalem Post has learned.

Figures obtained by the Post reveal that after three years of steady decline, 2005 saw the number of US visas issued to Saudis remain relatively stable, while this year the number has more than doubled.

In an e-mail to the Post, Amanda D. Rogers-Harper, a spokeswoman for the US State Department, confirmed that as of June 10, a total of 18,683 non-immigrant US visas had been issued to Saudi citizens since the start of the current fiscal year.

"This," she noted, "is twice as many as the 9,338 issuances to Saudis" in the corresponding period last year, marking an increase of over 100 percent in just the past 12 months.

Saudis Juice Hamas Butchery

[...] the Hamas campaign of violence continues unabashedly, in full swing, proving that terrorists can both “govern” and kill at the same time.

"With hearts full of faith, Hamas commends brother-fighter Abu Musab Zarqawi… who was  martyred at the hands of the savage crusade campaign which targets the Arab homeland, starting in Iraq,"

Hamas: "If We Want to, We'll Kill Abbas" - Adnan Asfor, spokesman for Hamas in the West Bank, discussed reports that Abbas' personal guard had received 3,000 new M16 rifles: "Abbas can put an F-16 plane in front of his house, but if we want to kill him, we'll kill him."

Despite the  Senate Voting to Block Aid to Palestinians last Friday and the international cut off off off funds to Hamas, their murder and terror continue unabated.Who is funding the "Firing Rockets on Israel and Trying to Intentionally Kill Civilians Is a War Crime." Michael I. Krauss & J. Peter Pham expose the duplicious dealings of our friend, the Saudis.

Our Blind Spot (NRO)

Despite its increasingly bloody record — or perhaps because of it — Hamas was elected to run the Palestinian Authority government.

How does this terrorist group continue operating despite the international boycott? An incident on June 13 involving PA Foreign Minister Mahmoud al-Zahar is telling. The Hamas leader was briefly stopped, but otherwise unhindered, as he transited through the international airport in Cairo with seven suitcases stuffed with an estimated $20 million. At the Rafah crossing-point from Sinai to Gaza, European monitors asked al-Zahar to explain the small fortune in his luggage, but did not detain him when he proved unresponsive. Then Palestinian Force 17 militiamen aligned with Fatah and President Abbas asked him to sign a guarantee that the money would be deposited in the Palestinian exchequer. Al-Zahar told them that he would think about it, then drove off. The foreign minister is the third Hamas official to enter at the Rafah crossing into Gaza carrying large amounts of cash. Last month, a Hamas lawmaker passed through with $4.5 million in banknotes. Before that, a Hamas spokesman brought in $800,000. Not a single dollar of these cash deliveries ever reached official Palestinian national coffers. Rather, Palestinian sources report that the cash covered the wages of Hamas’s militiamen and “security forces” — that is, the hired killers of “one of the deadliest terrorist organizations in the world today.”

And the provenance of this money? Ironically, given President Bush’s pledge that “those who do business with terror will do no business with the United States,” much of it comes from a country whose princes are regular guests at the Crawford Ranch.

According to Israel’s Center for Special Studies, as of 2003, up to 60 percent of Hamas’s annual budget came from Saudi Arabia, including from official sources, government-sponsored telethons, and government-run charities, as well as from Saudi individuals and organizations. The Saudi flow of money to Hamas has been so great, historically, that long before he became PA president, Mahmoud Abbas was complaining about it, as attested to by a December 2000 letter he wrote to Prince Salman, governor of Riyadh, discovered by Israeli forces during Operation Defensive Shield in April 2002. SAUDI JEW HATE OFFICIAL: BOYCOTT ISRAEL

The Saudis have thrown down the gauntlet. Finally.

Saudi Ambassador Says Trade Boycott of Israel Will Not End

It’s official. Saudi Arabia will not end its boycott of Israel despite its membership in the World Trade Organization, a body that prohibits such trade barriers between member states.    The Saudi ambassador to America told a luncheon at the Brookings Institution on Monday that his country’s primary boycott of Israel is a “matter of national sovereignty,” according to a transcript of the event provided to The New York Sun.

The comments from the Saudi prince are significant because to date no senior member of the kingdom has said — on the record,at least — that the House of Saud will continue its boycott of Israel, a potentially serious violation of the rules of the WTO, which Riyadh joined in December.     Prince Turki’s remarks were so contentious that the Saudi Embassy requested that the question-and-answer session following his statement at Brookings be made retroactively off the record, according to a Brookings press assistant who responded to a query for the full transcript.

Where does America stand? The most oppressive and backward of societies must be held accountable. Is Saudi Arabia finally saying it on the record because Jew hate has taken its place back on the world stage. I say yes. I say any compromise between good and evil is a victory for evil.

I say we throw the leftist legislators out of Congress, open up ANWR, start drilling off shore, and take control of our destiny.

Who is really afraid of Iran?

Lee Smith, a Hudson Institute visiting fellow based in Beirut, is writing a book on Arab culture, writing in this week's Weekly Standard here;

U.S. MIDDLE EAST policy is undergoing an identity crisis.
The giddy days of roll-back seem like a distant memory now, as a president who staked his historical legacy on Arab democracy grants Gamal Mubarak an audience at the White House while his father's government is beating and arresting protesters in the streets of Cairo. Is regional transformation rolling up its tent? Have all the sticks turned into carrots? And why is Washington so thrilled at reestablishing full diplomatic relations with Libya? If it is to illustrate what benefits are in store for another prominent power in the region should it abandon its own nuclear program, then maybe there should also be a counterexample of what happens to dangerously intransigent Middle Eastern regimes. Because     Iran is looking increasingly unimpressed by the posture of the Bush White House.

The White House has pointedly explained that Iran's nuclear program is a threat to     Israel, but Tehran is perhaps a more pressing problem for Gulf Cooperation Council members Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and especially Saudi Arabia. Speculations by Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad about post-Zionist geography are alarming, to say the least, but Israel has a nuclear deterrent. The Gulf countries, which in the past have shown neither the ability nor desire to protect themselves, depend entirely on the United States for their security. Read it all.............

Rupert & Prince sheik it up

More bad news us. More whitewashed news and lies by omission. Remember when Saudi Arabia purchased 5 -6% of News Corp last year. It changed the way your news was reported. Yes it did. When satcaster Fox News described unrest in France last year as "Muslim riots," one phone call to Murdoch saw the banner changed to "civil riots" within a half half hour.
Considering the limited sources the average American has to actual news (as opposed to the agenda driven drivel spewed by the propaganda arm of the Democratic party - the mainstream media) this latest development is most discouraging. Viva la blogs! The only place to get the news. More bad news here

Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal is expanding his media ventures, but instead of investing in the West, the West is now investing in him.Saudi_prince_al_waleed

Rupert Murdoch is set to acquire a stake in Bin Talal's Mideast media titan Rotana. The size of the stake and the coin have yet to be announced.

Rotana is the dominant media force in the Mideast with six TV channels, the region's most powerful music label and a film production arm. Despite having lauched within the last two years, it already accounts for 50% of all Arab film production, with 22 pics produced in 2005.

Rotana execs are in Cannes to world preem the first Saudi feature, "Keif al hal," in the market.

Al-Waleed is the third-biggest shareholder in Murdoch's News Corp., and also has sizeable stakes in Time Warner and Disney. He hopes to use the media to bridge gaps between East and West.

"It's part of an overall strategy to put Saudi Arabia on the radar and show the real face of Islam and Arabs to the West," he said. "We cannot accept or tolerate being stigmatized as terrorists forever. Culture has a big role in bridging this gap. It can show the West we are human beings like them."

Murdoch is in negotiations with Bin Talal, reputedly the world's eighth-richest man, to buy into Rotana before it goes public sometime next year.

Hamas:Good is Evil and Evil is Good

Suicide murder rhetoric here;

Hamas' spokesmen quickly defended the sickening Passover attack at a Tel Aviv restaurant Monday. The result was to put the Palestinian government on record as an outlaw. Just before the bombing, Qatar announced a $50 million pledge, adding to $50 million already promised by Iran and an unspecified "emergency" grant by Russia. Both Russia and Qatar, as well as every other Arab League state, should have second thoughts. The Bush administration should use its leverage to stop both from paying up.

Jordan Accuses Hamas of Smuggling Weapons. Oh and a senior Jordanian official said that weapons allegedly smuggled into Jordan by Hamas came from Syria.

The world will choke on its own blood. For every action or inaction, the rules are rewritten, the line in the sand is moved yet again.Last week I wrote here of an Arab murdered in cold blood for selling his land to Jews. No one in the media gave a shit. Al Doura! Why Is Muhammad Abu al-Hawa Dead?

Muhammad Abu al-Hawa, 42, and the father of eight, was shot seven times last Wednesday night and his body and car were torched. He was tortured and murdered because he stood accused of selling an apartment building in Israel's capital city to Jews. He was buried in a makeshift cemetery because the Palestinian Authority's mufti in Jerusalem, Ikremah Sabri, has barred all Muslims accused of selling land to Jews from being buried in a Muslim cemetery.

Has the moral inversion become so much a part of the daily dialogue that we can't see what is right in front of us. Such danger. The horror of what awaits us.

The Horror of Hamas

'British foreign secretary Jack Straw has just declared he wants to normalize relations with Hamas.'Earlier on Thursday, British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw had claimed that since Hamas now headed the PA government Britain wanted to maintain normal relations with them "as we did with the previous government."' This is the best the UK can do?........more at Zalmi blog

He makes this statement on a visit to Saudi Arabia, home to 15 of the 9-11 hijackers and principal banker to the Wahabbist Jihad. And within two days of the latest suicide carnage in Tel Aviv which Hamas were quick to justify as legitimate policy.

Saudi Arabia  ruled by an authoritarian regime that rely on coercion, violence, and terror to rule, and that demands from their citizens submission, obedience and conformity. And that includes "journalists," to whom, by now, responsibility to truth and logic has become irrelevant. More here.

The Bullshit about Bin Laden

Not surprising to hear the Saudis giving voice to the Democratic party's tactic of distraction and deception;

Find bin Laden,' Saudi envoy says
WASHINGTON - The United States should intensify its hunt for Osama bin Laden because the al-Qaida leader is inspiring and directing terrorist attacks more than four years after the Sept. 11 attacks of 2001, according to Saudi Arabia's new ambassador to the United States

Of course I want to see Bin Laden hung by his balls but this war is so much bigger than Bin Laden, that it is largely a symbolic kill. And that is what we should be talking about, this world war, and talking of it -constantly. Bin Laden and his hatchet men are merely the tip of the latest manifestation of Islam's war against the West.

The enemy is not one guy, or a handful of nuts. The enemy is the millions cheering after 9/11. Orianna Fallaci said  in The Rage and The Pride (written right after 9/11);

From Afghanistan to Sudan, from Palestine to Pakistan, from Malaysia to Iran, from Egypt to Iraq [before we removed the butcher Hussein], from Algeria to Senegal, from Syria to Kenya, from Libya to Chad, from Lebanon to Morocco, from Indonesia to Yemen, from Saudi Arabia to Somalia, the hate for the West swells like a fire fed by the wind. And the followers of Islamic Fundamentalism multiply like protozoa of a cell which splits to become two cells then four then eight the sixteen then thirty two to infinity.

You who are not aware only have to

look at the images that TV brings us every day. The multitudes that impregnate the streets of Islamabad, the squares of Nairobi, the mosques of Tehran. The ferocious faces, the threatening fists. The fires that burn the American flag and the photos of Bush.
[...] Their yells Allah-akbar, Allah-akbar. Jihad-Jihad. .Extreme fringes?!? Fanatical minorities?!?  They are millions and millions, the extremists. They are millions and  millions, the fanatics. The millions and millions for whom, dead or alive, Osama Bin Laden is a legend similar to the legend of Khomeini. The millions and millions who after Khomeini's death have chosen Bin Laden as their new leader, their new hero.

TV reporter interviewing old man in Nairobi;

Reporter: "Who is, for you, Osama Bin Laden?"

""A hero, our hero."

Reporter:"And what happens if he dies?"

"We find another one," the old man answered, still joyfully. In other words, the one who guides them is only the tip of the iceberg.

Thus, the real protagonist of this war is not Bin Laden. This is a war which is designed to destroy our civilization. Our way of life. The way we live, laugh, love, dress, read.

Saudi Arabia weighing in on capturing Osama, one of their own Wahhabists is laughable.  Saudi Arabia where anyone with a Bible in hand or a cross around his neck was (and is) treated like a scum to be put to death.

"Mister Bin Laden, Sir, how much money does Al Qaeda receive from your Saudi compatriots and from members of the Royal Family" - Fallaci

How dare that decrepit "medieval feud which enslaves us with its fucking oil"? More Saudi oppression here.

And the Democrats calling for Bin Laden's capture as though that puts an end to the latest  violent battle in the centuries long war is idiotic. And they are taking the American people for morons.

The Democrats are wrong. Dead wrong.

UPDATE: Many Arabs Favor Nuclear Iran - Jonathan Wright
Some Arabs, mainly outside the Gulf, are positively enthusiastic about Iran's nuclear program, even if it acquires nuclear weapons. The Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest opposition group, said this week it saw no harm in Iran developing nuclear arms. Analysts said they detected a surprising level of sympathy and support for Iran in the region. "Some think the Iranians are on the way to acquiring it (nuclear weapons capability) and are quite excited," said Hesham Kassem, editor of the independent Cairo newspaper Al Masry Al Youm. Mohamed el-Sayed Said, deputy director of the Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies, a Cairo think tank, said: "People are very, very warm about it (Iran's nuclear program)." (Reuters)

Like I said, it's waaaaaaaaaaaaay bigger than Bin Laden.

UPDATE: Democrats rip failure to find bin Laden

"the Zionist gang that has colonized America and the American people"

This is Jew hate - pure, unadulterated, unapologetic.  Chag Sameach, philistine!

The following are excerpts from an interview with Saudi intellectual Awadh Al-Qarni, which aired on Iqra TV on March 16, 2006. TO VIEW THIS CLIP CLICK HERESaudi_intellectual

*Clip # 1103 - Saudi intellectual Awadh Al-Qarni: Neo-Cons Are the Closest Thing There Is to Nazism

Awadh Al-Qarni: The real causes for the American invasion of Iraq are: First, the Zionist gang that has colonized America and the American people.

Interviewer: What proof do you have?

Awadh Al-Qarni: Look at the number of Jews in the American administration - I mean the Likud Jews, the extreme right wing over there... Some of the top American officials have Israeli citizenship. Some of them were top officials in Israel, such as Wolfowitz and others. Scores of them...The Zionist gang is now toying with the fate of America, and consequently, with the fate of the world, for the sake of the Jewish biblical greed and hatred. [...] Part of the American administration is not religious. They are neither Evangelists nor Jews, but they have a new ideological theory regarding international policy. They are called the neo-cons. Fifteen years ago, the American intellectuals used to call them crazy, but now they are surprised to find that those crazy people are ruling America, and controlling the entire world. They say: We do not want America to be the leader of the world. We want it to rule and Americanize the world. [...] They are the closest thing there is to Nazism. The neo-cons are identical to the Nazis.

How the Saudis Spin Teaching Wahhabism Worldwide

Regular readers here in New Atlas City, know how I have been all over the Saudis buying off the rotting intelligensia at our universities for some time now. The Dubai port deal never bothered me. The UAE moving boxes around in leased space, which is essentially what it was , was no big deal.
The Saudis paying off Georgetown, Harvard et all with 20 million, now that was a big deal. We have seen the ill effects Saudi money on the campus and curriculum at Columbia to know this is an important front on the global war on Islamofascism.
I thought you might like to see how the Saudis spin their "Education Jihad" feeding this propaganda like so much gruel to the American people.
Think Saudi $$$ won't influence curriculum? Ask Rachel Fish.................

On March 21, Saudi Ambassador to the U.S. Prince Turki Al-Faisal delivered remarks to the Town Hall Los Angeles, where he addressed the various ways the Kingdom is working to bring its citizens to the forefront of the global community through education. He discussed Saudi Arabia’s new educational curricula, the building of new schools and colleges, and the scholarship program to send Saudi students to study abroad.

“First, Saudi Arabia is upgrading its own educational system. The Kingdom has reviewed all of its education practices and materials, and has removed any element that is inconsistent with the needs of a modern education…. Second, Saudi Arabia is heavily investing in its educational system to prepare its citizens for life and work in a modern, global economy…. And third, ladies and gentlemen, Saudi Arabia is taking steps to broaden the horizons of its citizens and emphasize the value of cultural exchange."

Bid Laden's Saudi Mufti:"Fighting the American Aggressors in Iraq is Jihad "

Bin Laden's Former Mufti Saudi Cleric Musa Al-Qarni: Saudi Youth are Exceptional in Terms of Sacrifice in Their Love of Jihad & Their Desire to Reach Paradise; Fighting the AmericanSaud_mufti Aggressors in Iraq is Jihad & Constitutes a Legitimate & Obligatory Defense To view this Special MEMRI Dispatch go here.

The following are excerpts from an interview by Osama bin Laden's former mufti Saudi cleric Musa Al-Qarni. The interview aired on Dubai TV, on March 18, 2006. It is followed by other appearances by Musa Al-Qarni on Iqra TV.

TO VIEW THIS CLIP, HERE

Musa Al-Qarni: "The concept of jihad is a matter of faith and Islamic religious law, which lives in the mind of every Muslim on the face of this earth. The religious education we receive through our schools, through our religious jurisprudence, our thinking, and our tradition - jihad is part of this."

Meanwhile MAROOOOOOON of the day award goes to sexaholic Charlie Sheen here;

CHARLIE Sheen has joined the 9/11 gone-bonkers brigade. The "Two and a Half Men" star gave a bizarre interview on GGN Radio Network's conspiracy-minded Sheen "The Alex Jones Show," in which he suggested that the federal government was covering up what "really" happened. "It seems to me like 19 amateurs with boxcutters taking over four commercial airliners and hitting 75 percent of their targets, that feels like a conspiracy theory. It raises a lot of questions," Sheen said. "A couple of years ago, it was severely unpopular to talk about any of this. It feels like from the people I talk to, and the research I've done and around my circles, it feels like the worm is turning." Sheen said the collapse of the Twin Towers looked like a "controlled demolition." The out-there actor also expressed his disbelief over how one of the planes hit the Pentagon. "Just show us how this particular plane pulled off these maneuvers . . . It is up to us to reveal the truth. It is up to us because we owe it to the families, we owe it to the victims, we owe it to everyone's life who was drastically altered, horrifically, that day and forever. We owe it to them to uncover what happened."

These leftards have a soapbox, they are quoted on Page Six, sheeesh.

Saudis Kiss Hamas' Ring, Seduce US Univer$ities

THE MULLAH-HAMAS AXIS

"Death to Israel. Death to America. ...Allah willing, before they die, they will experience humiliation and degradation every day... Allah willing, we will make them lose their eyesight, we will make them lose their brains."
(03/13/2006) Khaled Mash'al, Hamas leader

Hardline Saudi Clerics Fete Hamas Delegation
Leaders of the Palestinian militant group Hamas were feted at a reception by hardline Saudi clerics during a visit this week to ensure continued financial aid. [...] Saudi officials had assured them of continuing political and financial aid in private meetings.[...] The reception included a number of prominent clerics and Islamists, some of whom have been jailed in the past for suspected support for al-Qaeda or criticism of the Saudi government.. (Reuters)

It's time the Saudis stopped talking out of both sides of their wahhabist mouths.  America is not going to play  "status quo - turn the other cheek" anymore. And I am not sure who has to take them aside and lay it down but it's time.
What's wrong with them anyway? Don't the Saudis know their royal asses will be fried if
HamasakaHizbollahakaahqaedaakabinladen have their way?

There is a war - not between Islam and the West, but rather inside the Islamic world. America is not bin Laden's principal enemy. Rather, it is the Saudi dynasty - an oppressive Islamic regime based on a fundamentalism even more extreme than that found in Iran (for example, with regard to elections, women's rights, and non-Muslim's rights in society). Hamas Platform Calls for Continued "Armed Resistance"

No Arab foreign investment at the ports, how about no Islamic theocratic investment in our schools?

And here at home the Saudis are building their fifth column. Where is the outrage on Capital Hill?  From FDD

This weekend, the Saudis took a two-page, full color spread in the Washington Post. The cost of such an ad is well over $100,000. But to the Saudis, of course, that's chump change, a rounding error.

The purpose of the ad was to publicize the new "Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Islamic Program" at Harvard University and the new "Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding" at Georgetown University.

Harvard and Georgetown recently have been the recipients of gifts of $20 million from the Prince. But "gift" isn't really the correct word. "Investment" would be more accurate.

You can be sure that the "scholars" hired for these programs will not be overly critical of Wahhabism, the official Saudi religion/ideology that preaches that Christians, Jews, Shia Muslims and liberal Sunni Muslims are vermin.

You can bet that we won't see many critical studies of Militant Islamism and terrorism coming out of these centers.

And consider the impact these institutions will have on students -- students who will go on to careers in diplomacy, intelligence, law enforcement and other areas.

Meanwhile, the Qatar Foundation, an arm of the Qatar government, has made major gifts to Carnegie Mellon, Virginia Commonwealth and Cornell universities. According to the Wall Street Journal, the amounts range from $10 million to $50 million.

Above the two-page ad in the Post was the headline: "We share the same world."

Iran and Hamas Readies for War

Global chessboard takes shape, comes into focus;

Hamas is busily preparing for war. A Hamas official identified as Abu Huzeifa, in an interview with the Gaza City newspaper Dunia al-Watan, revealed that sinceChessboard_gun_global Israel left the Gaza Strip, Hamas has built training camps in all Palestinian cities.

These camps are training new cadres of Jihadists. The basic training lasts a month, followed by three more months of advanced instruction in battle skills, endurance building, marksmanship, missile launching, commando fighting, hand-to-hand combat, crawling under fences, and urban warfare.

The instructors are Hamas members trained internationally, most likely in Lebanon, Syria, and Iran.
Each training camp occupies over five acres and accommodates dozens of trainees
.

‘Therefore never send to ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee.’

Ahmadinejad_iran_black_hand_1 Hamas has secure financing from Iran. They are now seeking additional aid from the Saudis. (RIYADH, March 10 Reuters) -

Leaders of Palestinian Islamist group Hamas arrived in Saudi Arabia on Friday on a visit they hope will ensure political and financial backing from the wealthy Islamic country, a Hamas official said.

Saudi Arabia, the world's biggest oil exporter and birthplace of Islam, has been one of the biggest financial backers of the Palestinian Authority. Hamas leaders have been on a tour of Arab and other countries seeking support.

Concurrently, Iran Threatens to Use Oil in Nuke Standoff and so what? The US will certainly manage without them, but can the same be said of Iran?  They refine none of their oil - none.. They ship it out crude  to be refined outside the country. Iran stops shipping oil to us/EU, and we'll stop shipping refined oil to them and let me tell you that will have a devastating effect on its population. Their people have become accustomed to state subsidized oil. It will kill their already crippled economy.

Saudi Ambassador Spreads Blame over Cartoon Dispute
Hey Saudi, kiss me. I like to get kissed when I am getting screwed. The OIC is completely and utterly to blame for the Looney Toon dispute. Those silly toons ran months (in Egyptian newspapers even on this blog) before the incitement to violence. A decision was made at the OIC meeting to incite the radical Muslim thugs around the globe. It is the latest call to arms by the Radical Islamic mullahs in their war on the West. POWER PLAY. SUBMISSION, DHIMMITUDE. G-d forbid you instruct your people in bettering  themselves by giving a math, science rich education and actually contributing something to mankind. But nooooooooo. STFU

Funding NGOs Is No Solution-Clearly, but nobody wants to talk about that. Stop funding the despots, dictators, theocratic mullahs, terrorists, oppressors in the name of benevolence and diplomacy. We are not primal, we can learn from from our mistakes. In order to spread democracy we need to teach political freedom.

For any nation, no matter how underdeveloped, if it establishes a political system that protects individual rights, its progress and development will be phenomenal. The best in all men work to raise that society and to contribute to the progress of all -- not by self-sacrifice but by plain rational self-interest. Capitalism, as history shows, raises the general standard of living, and men of all levels of ability are rewarded and get much more than they could under any form of statism or tribal rule. --Ayn Rand

If you want to help, teach them the theory of freedom.

If people who have lived for centuries under violence discover that they can exercise their ingenuity and create something , and that their rulers will protect them rather than forbid production or expropriate what they produce, you'd be amazed what productive talent would suddenly arise.

At the start of the Industrial Revolution, most nations were pretty primitive-- perhaps not as underdeveloped as Africa, but they were savages in the Middle Ages compared to what we are today. -- Ayn Rand

"But but China needs oil, China needs oil", you know what? STFU. As far as the left is concerned, everyone is allowed to operate in their own self interest except Ameica. The world has gotten way too small to continue to excuse China of assisting in bringing the world to the brink.

And speaking of free passes, I am sick and tired of the free pass the Clinton administration has received in the selling of nuclear secrets to China --CHINAGATE.

The FOX that Bit the MSM has died and is waiting on 72 Virgins

Saudi Arabia is attempting the same bloodless coup of the little media that is not Left/Liberal/Lunatic, that it successfully orchestrated on academia in America and abroad here, here here (the list is too long renumerate here).

Billionaire Saudi Prince al-Walid bin Talal, whose offer of $10 million after the 9/11 atrocities was rejected by Rudy Giuliani, has a very revealing and very troubling statement reported by Middle East Online. (Hat tip: LGF readers.)

Al-Walid also criticised US media which he described as “in general ... pro-Israel.”Fox But he also accused Arabs of not being pro-active in fighting the allegedly slanted media.

He said that during last month’s street protests in France, the US television network Fox — owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corporation in which Al-Walid himself has shares — ran a banner saying: “Muslim riots.”

“I picked up the phone and called Murdoch... (and told him) these are not Muslim riots, these are riots out of poverty,” he said.

“Within 30 minutes, the title was changed from Muslim riots to civil riots.”

I have bemoaned the early death of FOX for some time now here ,here, and here. I have noticed subtle changes in The New York Post, a must read for years is hardly on my radar screen anymore (The New York Sun picking up the lead, albeit with The Wall Street Journal - two must reads)

FOX has left a gaping hole in the cable news market. Vacuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum.

STOP SAUDI ISLAMIC FUNDAMENTALIST SCHOOLS IN USA

For all of you reading this article please go to "Petition" on the  bottom of this post and click it to view the friendly language taught in these Islamic Schools about the pigs and apes, Christians and Jews .Hat tip:. Brigitte Gabriel

Islamic school furor in Lodi
Sacramento Bee

Supporters of the center envision a small elementary school that embraces traditional Islamic values, a gathering place for Muslim women who are otherwise sequestered at home, a playground, a library and a site for worship.

There's a huge need for it," said Pamela Parvez, a Lodi mother of seven who makes an 80-mile round-trip drive each weekday to ferry her fourth-grader to an Islamic school in Sacramento.

But federal attorneys and agents, mounting a counterterrorism offensive in Lodi, saw a darker future for the Farooqia Islamic Center. They have alleged in court that the facility's secret mission may have been to recruit and groom American Muslims for the jihad - the holy war against enemies of Islam.

In testimony at an immigration court hearing Aug. 9, FBI agent Gary Schaaf compared the Lodi school to militant madrassahs - Muslim seminaries - in Pakistan: "Our investigation has come across information that the (planned Lodi) madrassah is part of a long-term plan ... during which students would be spotted and assessed and maybe eventually be ready to commit acts of violence in the U.S."

Supporters of the Farooqia Islamic Center emphatically deny any connection with terrorism.

"The intent was for the school to teach kindergarten through fourth grade," said Taj Khan, a leader in Lodi's large Pakistani community and member of the center's board of directors.
The following is found in their text and lessons;

Jews and Christians - Cursed by Allah and Turned into Apes and Pigs- a textbook explains why Jews and Christians were cursed by Allah and turned into apes and pigs. Quoting Surat Al-Maida, verse 60, the lesson explains that Jews and Christians have sinned by accepting polytheism and therefore incurred Allah's wrath. To punish them, Allah has turned them into apes and pigs.
1. "It is Allah's wisdom that the struggle between Muslims and Jews shall continue until the Day of Judgment."
2. "The Hadith brings forth the glad tidings about the ultimate victory, with Allah's help, of Muslims over Jews."
3. "The Jews and the Christians are the enemies of the believers. They will not be favorably disposed toward Muslims and it is necessary to be cautious (in dealing with them)."

"It was to be an independent charter school licensed by the state. How could it be a terrorist school? A 5-year-old terrorist? It is mind-boggling. God help the FBI if they think that right under the noses of the community such a thing could be established."

The FBI will not elaborate on its allegations, saying the investigation continues.

Kazimi on the Saudi Mega Plot

Wildly inquisitive questioning  informative piece by Nibras Kazimi on the Saudi Mega Plot in today's GREAT NEW YORK SUN. Mr. Kazimi is an Iraqi writer living in DC. He recently returned from a trip through the Middle East that included time in Lebanon. READ IT ALL
Bush_hand_holding_1

The Saudis appear to be sending out three seemingly contradictory messages: one to the Americans, another to their own internal extremists, and a third to the Syrian leadership. The Saudis are telling the Americans that they are going to help bring down the regime in Syria. They are telling the Wahhabis within Saudi Arabia that they are going to bring back a Sunni country into the fold and liberate it from the obscure, pseudo-Shiite Alawite regime currently in power. And they are telling these very same Alawis that this whole Bush vision for democracy threatens them both and that all they are up to is for show and that it should not be taken seriously.

As it happens, all three messages seem to be sincere. The Saudis are indeed going to pull all the strings to bring down the Alawite regime in Syria, and then place a Sunni fundamentalist regime in place that will appease the Wahhabis and scare the hell out of the Americans. Bush may be striving for democratic change in Damascus, but what he will get in return is a bunch of crazies hostile to America, and there won't be an equivalent to Iraq's Sistani to curb them. The Saudis will then turn around and whisper in Bush's ear, "We told you that this whole democracy thing is a bad idea, now imagine who you'd have to deal with if we were pressured to change and our own oil-securing yet brittle regime is threatened?"

Doesn't the scenario described above look very familiar to what happened throughout the 1980s in Afghanistan? Didn't the Saudis strike a deal with the Americans to fund the mujahedeen, defeat the Soviets, and establish the Taliban regime? Wasn't Pakistan the staging ground for that former mega-plot? At the time, the Saudis were threatened by both Soviet-supported Arab socialism and out-of-control Wahhabi fundamentalism, and the solution was simple: Give the Saudi crazies a project in faraway Kabul, become a global strategic ally of America, and humiliate the Russians. It worked, but left a mega-mess called the Taliban as a nasty and exceedingly dangerous by-product.

  • Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein, two leftwing cub/pitbull reporters at the Wahington Post, intent on bringing down President Nixon.

And they did. After being exposed for covering for his people (not guilty of the break in mind you), Nixon resigned. Imagine if Nixon had been a democrat. Would that ever have happened? The shenanigans of Democrat Presidents going back to JFK's stolen election are wildly known (don't even get me started on Bill).

What made this left wing assault on America so damaging is the subsequent road America went down. Had it not been for Watergate, America- leery and distrusting of the GOP after Nixon's resignation - would never have elected a Democrat, an unknown peanut farmer to the office of the President. A man so out of his league, a man so incapable of the office of the President, that we are still suffering from his ineptitude. Imagine if Reagan had been President when the leader of one of our greatest allies in the Middle East, Iran, called upon the President for help. Imagine the course of history, if you will, if we had backed the Shah of Iran. Imagine what a different world this would be.

According to many Iranians, Carter practically pushed out the Shah and gave Iran to the Ayatollah Khomeini (much the way he relinguished control of the Panama Canal).

    I, Pencil

    • I, Pencil

      By Leonard Read

I am a lead pencil — the ordinary wooden pencil familiar to all boys and girls and adults who can read and write.

Writing is both my vocation and my avocation; that’s all I do.

You may wonder why I should write a genealogy. Well, to begin with, my story is interesting. And, next, I am a mystery-more so than a tree or a sunset or even a flash of lightning. But, sadly, I am taken for granted by those who use me, as if I were a mere incident and without background. This supercilious attitude relegates me to the level of the commonplace. This is a species of the grievous error in which mankind cannot too long persist without peril. For, as a wise man observed, “We are perishing for want of wonder, not for want of wonders.”

I, Pencil, simple though I appear to be, merit your wonder and awe; a claim I shall attempt to prove. In fact, if you can understand me — no, that’s too much to ask of anyone — if you can become aware of the miraculousness which I symbolize, you can help save the freedom mankind is so unhappily losing. I have a profound lesson to teach. And I can teach this lesson better than can an automobile or an aeroplane or a mechanical dishwasher because-well, because I am seemingly so simple.

Simple? Yet, not a single person on the face of this earth knows how to make me. This sounds fantastic, doesn’t it? Especially when it is realised that there are about one and one-half billion of my kind produced in the USA. each year.

Pick me up and look me over. What do you see? Not much meets the eye — there’s some wood, lacquer, the printed labelling, graphite lead, a bit of metal, and an eraser. Just as you cannot trace your family tree back very far, so is it impossible for me to name and explain all my antecedents. But I would like to suggest enough of them to impress upon you the richness and complexity of my background.

My family tree begins with what in fact is a tree, a cedar of straight grain that grows in Northern California and Oregon. Now contemplate all the saws and trucks and rope and the countless other gear used in harvesting and carting the cedar logs to the railroad siding. Think of all the persons and the numberless skills that went into their fabrication: the mining of ore, the making of steel and its refinement into saws, axes motors; the growing of hemp and bringing it through all the states to heavy and strong rope; the logging camps with their beds and mess halls the cookery and the raising of all the foods. Why, untold thousands of persons had a hand in every cup of coffee the loggers drink!

The logs are shipped to a mill in San Leandro, California. Can you imagine the individuals who make flat cars and rails and railroad engines and who construct and install the communication systems incidental thereto? These legions among my antecedents.

Consider the millwork in San Leandro. The cedar logs are cut into small, pencil-length slats less than one-fourth of an inch in thickness. These are kiln dried and then tinted for the same reason women put rouge on their faces. People prefer that I look pretty, not a pallid white. The slats are waxed and kiln dried again. How many skills went into the making of the tint and the kilns, into supplying the heat, the light and power, the belts, motors, and all the other things a mill requires? Sweepers in the mill among my ancestors? Yes, and included are the men who poured the concrete for the dam of a Pacific Gas & Electric Company hydroplant which supplies the mill’s power!

Don’t overlook the ancestors present and distant who have a hand in transporting sixty carloads of slats across the nation from California to Wilkes-Barre!

      Complicated Machinery

Once in the pencil factory — $4,000,000 in machinery and building, all capital accumulated by thrifty and saving parents of mine — each slat is given eight grooves by a complex machine, after which another machine lays leads in every other slat, applies glue, and places another slat atop — a lead sandwich, so to speak. Seven brothers and I are mechanically carved from this “wood-clinched” sandwich.

My “lead” itself — it contains no lead at all — is complex. The graphite is mined in Ceylon. Consider these miners and those who make their many tools and the makers of the paper sacks in which the graphite is shipped and those who make the string that ties the sacks and those who put them aboard ships and those who make the ships. Even the lighthouse keepers along the way assisted in my birth — and the harbour pilots.

The graphite is mixed with clay from Mississippi in which ammonium hydroxide is used in the refining process. Then wetting agents are added such as sulfonated tallow — animal fats chemically reacted with sulphuric acid. After passing through numerous machines, the mixture finally appears as endless extrusions — as from a sausage grinder — cut to size, dried, and baked for several hours at 1,850 degrees Fahrenheit. To increase their strength and smoothness the leads are then treated with a hot mixture which includes candelilla wax from Mexico, paraffin wax, and hydrogenated natural fats.

My cedar receives six coats of lacquer. Do you know all of the ingredients of lacquer? Who would think that the growers of castor beans and the refiners of castor oil are a part of it? They are. Why, even the processes by which the lacquer is made, a beautiful yellow, involves the skills of more persons than one can enumerate!

Observe the labelling. That’s a film formed by applying heat to carbon black mixed with resins. How do you make resins and what, pray, is carbon black? My bit of metal — the ferrule — is brass. Think of all the persons who mine zinc and copper and those who have the skills to make shiny sheet brass from these products of nature. Those black rings on my ferrule are black nickel. What is black nickel and how is it applied? The complete story of why the centre of my ferrule has no black nickel on it would take pages to explain.

Then there is my crowning glory, inelegantly referred to in the trade as “the plug,” the part man uses to erase the errors he makes with me. An ingredient called “factice” is what does the erasing. It is a rubber-like product made by reacting rape seed oil from the Dutch East Indies with sulphur chloride. Rubber, contrary to the common notion, is only for binding purposes. Then, too, there are numerous vulcanizing and accelerating agents. The pumice comes from Italy, and the pigment which gives “the plug” its colour is cadmium sulphide.

      No One Knows

Does anyone wish to challenge my earlier assertion that no single person on the face of this earth knows how to make me?

Actually, millions of human beings have had a hand in my creation, no one of whom even knows more than a very few of the others. Now, you may say that I go too far in relating the picker of a coffee berry in far off Brazil and food growers elsewhere to my creation; that this is an extreme position. I shall stand by my claim. There isn’t a single person in all these millions, including the president of the pencil company, who contributes more than a tiny, infinitesimal bit of know-how. From the standpoint of know-how the only difference between the miner of graphite in Ceylon and the logger in Oregon is in the type of know-how. Neither the miner nor the logger can be dispensed with any more than can the chemist at the factory or the worker in the oil field-paraffin being a by-product of petroleum.

Here is an astounding fact: Neither the worker in the oil field nor the chemist nor the digger of graphite or clay nor any who mans or makes the ships or trains or trucks nor the one who runs the machine that does the knurling on my bit of metal nor the president of the company performs his singular task because he wants me. Each one wants me less, perhaps, than does a child in the in first grade. Indeed, there are some among this vast multitude who never saw a pencil nor would they know how to use one. Their motivation is other than me. Perhaps it is something like this: Each of these millions sees that he can thus exchange his tiny know-how for the goods and services he needs or wants. I may or may not be among these items.

      No Master Mind

There is a fact still more astounding: The absence of a master mind, of anyone dictating or forcibly directing these countless actions which bring me into being. No trace of such a person can be found. Instead, we find the Invisible Hand at work. This is the mystery to which I earlier referred.

It has been said that “only God can make a tree.” Why do we agree with this? Isn’t it because we realise that we ourselves could not make one? Indeed, can we even describe a tree? We cannot, except in superficial terms. We can say, for instance, that a certain molecular configuration manifests itself as a tree. But what mind is there among men that could even record, let alone direct, the constant changes in molecules that transpire in the life span of a tree? Such a feat is utterly unthinkable!

I, Pencil, am a complex combination of miracles: a tree, zinc, copper, graphite, and so on. But to these miracles which manifest themselves in Nature an even more extraordinary miracle has been added: the configuration of creative human energies-millions of tiny know-hows configurating naturally and spontaneously in response to human necessity and desire and in the absence of any human masterminding! Since only God can make a tree, I insist that only God could make me. Man can no more direct these millions of know-hows to bring me into being than he can put molecules together to create a tree.

The above is what I meant when writing, “If you can become aware of the miraculousness which I symbolise, you can help save the freedom mankind is unhappily losing.” For, if one is aware that these know-hows will naturally, yes, automatically, arrange themselves into creative and productive patterns in response to human necessity and demand — that is, in the absence of governmental or any other coercive masterminding — then one will possess an absolutely essential ingredient for freedom: a faith in free men. Freedom is impossible without this faith.

Once a government has had a monopoly of a creative activity such, for instance, as the delivery of the mails, most individuals will believe that the mails could not be efficiently delivered by men acting freely. And here is the reason: Each one acknowledges that he himself doesn’t know how to do all the things incident to mail delivery. He also recognises that no other individual could do it. These assumptions are correct. No individual possesses enough know-how to perform a nation’s mail delivery any more than any individual possesses enough know-how to make a pencil. Now, in the absence of a faith in free men — in the unawareness that millions of tiny know-hows would naturally and miraculously form and cooperate to satisfy this necessity — the individual cannot help but reach the erroneous conclusion that mail can be delivered only by governmental “masterminding.”

If I, Pencil, were the only item that could offer testimony on what men can accomplish when free to try, then those with little faith would have a fair case. However, there is testimony, galore; it’s all about us and on every hand. Mail delivery is exceedingly simple when compared, for instance, to the making of an automobile or a calculating machine or a grain combine or a milling machine or to tens of thousands of other things. Delivery? Why, in this area where men have been left free to try, they deliver the human voice around the world in less than one second; they deliver an event visually and in motion to any person’s home when it is happening; they deliver 150 passengers from Seattle to Baltimore in less than four hours; they deliver gas from Texas to one’s range or furnace in New York at unbelievably low rates and without subsidy; they deliver each four pounds of oil from the Persian Gulf to our Eastern Seaboard — halfway, around the world — for less money than the governments charges for delivering a one-ounce letter across the street!

The lesson I have to teach is this: Leave all creative energies uninhibited. Merely organise society to act in harmony with this lesson. Let society’s legal apparatus remove all obstacles the best it can. Permit these creative know-hows freely to flow. Have faith that free men will respond to the Invisible Hand. This faith will be confirmed. I, Pencil, seemingly simple though I am, offer the miracle of my creation as testimony that this is a practical faith, as practical as the sun, the rain, a cedar tree, the good earth.
